Comments Thread For: Nate Campbell Settles With King; Golden Boy Deal Close?

Several reliable sources have informed BoxingScene.com that former unified lightweight champion Nate Campbell is close to signing a promotional deal with Golden Boy. I've heard rumblings that a deal has been reached between Golden Boy, Campbell's advisor Terry Trekas and Campbell's former promoter Don King. [Click Here To Read More]

Could Golden Boy have picked up a more sorry fighter? The only promising fighters they've got right now are Abner Mares and Saul Alvarez. If they are going to sign fighters who are established, they need to sign good fighters. Campell is average.

Cambell is not just average. He's finished. Bradley showed that.

Campbell isn't average, but he's looked old for the past 2 fights. He threw a **** load of punches against Diaz where he showed versatility, but it seems like the Diaz win is his first and last hurrah.

Saul Alvarez is a free agent, he has a manager, but no promoter.

Jacobs, Lara, and Ortiz are pretty good prospects, but GBP seems to be terrible at scouting prospects. Look for DiBella to dominate in and around the middleweight division.

Campbell's got like what... 2-3 fights left? He's looking to get paid before he retires.

next weeks purse bid for what?

are they fighting for the IBF title as well? That would be ridiculous campbell hasnt done anything at 140 yet

it seems campbells popularity stems from his win over diaz which shouldve blown over a long time ago

            holts gonna rip him apart

Campbell is probably the best fighter GBP has signed in a while. He didn't look good against Funeka? Did you see what Funeka was able to do to Guzman the other day? Funeka is no slouch and Campbell put him on his ass twice. And Bradley will get exposed this weekend. Campbell is a veteran fighter that turns it on in the later rounds as evidenced in the Diaz fight. The Bradley fight was only three rounds and you could easily have given Campbell one of them.

Logic doesnt work on the "Hate Nate" board.......lol

And dont you know that the first 2 rounds of a 12 round fight tell you EVERYTHING about a fighter? Dont believe me? Just watch Taylor-Froch, JMM-Diaz, or Guzman-Funeka........lol

                  Soupy is ca ca!!!

This is a poor excuse of a signing, Soupy is 39 years old with 6 loss (yes he lost to Bradley)....Holt will stop him if they fight, he' s wash up and SHOULD be washing dishes at your local Red Lobster.

Ortiz has more upside than Soupy!

Just like Herpes, Campbell will not just go away and he always pops up when you dont want him around. We should list this in the "Who gives a ****" category and move on. Campbell should just go Fake an injury and retire already.
