How to set traps for Mayweather

In recent articles Roach has been talking about 10-week camps(I thought Mayweather was an easy fight?) and the need to set traps for Mayweather.
Does he have enought time to teach Manny this? And what type of traps do you see Mayweather falling for? Manny is great at what he does, but I wouldn't call him a smart figther. He's a machine. Can he become a thinking man in such short time??

that type of thinking will just lead manny to setting traps for himself...he isnt that type of fighter and following floyd in the ring isnt a smart idea...im telling yall manny isnt effective if your not stationary or coming towards him

I agree... I made a thread about this the other day. Making this a technical fight for manny is just a big mistake. He just needs to stick to his bread and butter and even then he only has a puncher's chance.

Roach wanted this fight just to get 10% of Pacquiao's purse but he knows Pacqiuao's ass will be smoked. He has admitted to Floyd's genius and a one dimensional fighter's not going to beat him.

too many question marks on Pacs side than mays.

Roach said he's fighting shot fighters... may not so much.

Manny needs to learn how to box enough to work his way inside and make it a fight.

          Manny has no Defense.

Manny has decent but not great footwork Maywather has superb footwork and will take advantage of manny being off balance.

speed is almost the same, may has a 6 inch (or more) reach advantage.

it's going to be at 147

i dunno i am a fan of both but i have to say, manny has allot to work on. and the fact he has been getting better little by little but still make allot of fundamental mistakes... isn't good.

May's fought guys with power, Manny hasn't fought allot of guys with speed, how is he going to adjust? Cotto's jab was his fastest punch and caught him almost every time he threw it. FACT May punches faster than cotto!

all in all it's going to be a good fight though!

            agree my man

in order to set traps you have to be able to think quickly in case your opponent does something unexpected.

guys like Mayweather Hopkins and JMM can do that because they are masters at adapting to a style and overcoming it

can Manny? Manny seems really good at following a game plan and listening to Freddie but what about thinking on the fly? It takes a lot of chess to set traps and I am not sure Manny isn't out of the checkers mode yet in terms of adaptability

I'd say the first few rounds would probably be like Judah Vs Mayweather in that Floyd will need to adjust himself which he'd probably would by the 3rd or 4th round.

Manny just can't go in like he usually does, pushing his way inside against Floyd the way he does wouldn't work since Floyd is very evasive. Though I think one thing Manny should work on is to counter those hooks that Floyd always does, I see it in almost every Floyd fight recently and its become like a trademark.

                  setting traps 101:

throw a weak jab to get your opponent to open up and then counter w/ the appropriate KTFO punch.

That is why I don't like Manny's chances. Manny's best hope is that he is out and out a better man then Mayweather and that the game plan works because he is just that great.

I don't really see it going like that but a lot seem to think like that.
