What makes Ricky Hatton a "shot" fighter?

Thats whats up man.....you don't get it, Hatton is a warrior, doubts etc don't come into it like they might for some other fighters. From the moment he enters the ring, he goes to kill or be killed, even when Pac was beating him Hatton didn't hold back, he kept going after him again and again. He could've ran, but he didn't, why? because he still believed he could win, warrior to the death.Comment

He's not shot he is just a B/B+ fighter who got KO'd by two great fighters and thats it. Hatton is a good fighter but he lost to the wrong guy. Once you lose to Floyd the haters will come full speed to tear that win to pieces and the guy who lost will be the one to take the worst of it. I know hatton is a good fighter because he made Malignaggi( a B- type fighter) look like a C- fighter and he blew up Kostya tsyzu.I want an answer from a knowledgeable poster who is a fan of boxing. I mean what fights or what indicates he is a shot fighter? The Floyd fight was competitive until the 8 or 9th round. With Pacquiao he was caught with a shot that would take anyone one out if they got hit flush like that.
I'm just bringing this up because I don't see how losing to the two greatest fighters from the generation makes you shot. Hall of famers like Bird, Dexler, Payton etc have all been dominated by Jordan but that doesn't make them less of a player (as far as b-ball is concerned).
In similar fashion, why is boxing the only sport that if a top athlete gets dominated, or even embarrassed, the sport tries to say they are finished or done? I heard Floyd say this 8-9 years ago, "My job is harder that Kobe's because Kobe is allowed to have an off day. If I have an off day, then people will say my career is over and done."
My question is why is that. Why does boxing put our stars in such a box. IMO this attitude hurts boxing more than anything.Comment

From a *****-perspective: Pacquiao knocked him out. Every boxer that isn't shot will dominate Manny!Comment
