I know everyone talks a good fight beforehand, Arreola did and he got schooled. But Johnson does sound quite convincing. I think his determination will get him to the mid-late round at least. Then he will be ready to go.
I like Johnson. He's a skilled Heavyweight. Fast hands, quick on his feet and a sound boxing brain. He also seems to have alot of belief in himself, to say the least.
His Jab is one of the best in the division. It's fast, accurate and sharp. It his best punch in his arsenal.
He's not a huge hitter, but as of late has been putting a few away. He is coming off a pretty impressive performance were he stopped Devin Vargas in 6.
Vargas was 17-0 going into the fight, with a fine amature pedigree, which included winning the National Golden Gloves Heavyweight Title and going to the Olympic Games in 2004. Although Vargas did take the fight on short notice.
Johnson is also a student of the game and has studied extensive footage of Muhhamad Ali and Larry Holmes. Two of the best Jabbers in Heavyweight History. Which is always good to hear.
He also never had a big amature background. Just 18 fights and never took up the sport of boxing until the age of 18. So he has learn't quick and come along way.
But he has a giant challage in front of him. Vitali Klitschko is a hard puzzle to figure out to say the least. He is extremly unorthodox, heavy handed and has a anvil chin. He would be hard fight for virtually any Heavyweight in history.
Vitali has won 38 out of his 40 fights and the 2 losses are very questionable. One was to Southpaw Chris Byrd, were he pulled out due to a shoulder injury in the 9th round when he was miles ahead on the cards.
The other was two then Heavyweight King Lennox Lewis, were the bout was stopped on a cut in the 6th round. At the time of the stoppage Vitali led on the score cards.
37 of his 38 wins have come back KO. One of the highest KO percentages in history. He was also a world class amature.

from the sounds of it the guy hasnt had that great of a life...it has turned him into a tough and determined individual..some people crumble under lifes pressure. but on his skills..if i said it once ive said it a thousand times..dont be suprised if he pulls some sneaky tricks on vitali in the ring..johnson is a very awkward and difficult guy to fight and it has alot to do with his long arms and footwork and he knows how to smother a fighters offense..and if you watch his fights he isnt even on his A-game..he will be this saturday..he may not win but he is going to make it difficult for vitali
I think he is taking a passage from the David Haye book of self-promotion which reads:
"While copious amounts of **** talking is encouraged, it is important to remember that it is about quantity, not quality. The **** that you are talking requires neither that it make sense logically, nor make sense linguistically. That is to say that while you have never actually fought an opponent the caliber of your current **** talking recipient, you are most obviously greater than them, and everyone else in the world, ever. At this point you should follow it up by calling them a name such as "Doody Head" or "Stink Butt" and then talk about their looks in a demeaning manner. Repeat this as long as people will listen."
