Just picked up the news on a German newspage, that the Klitschkos have an obligation to the TV-channel RTL. Since Wlad fought only once this year, Vitali had to fulfill the contract with a third fight this year.
So he took the fight with Johnson not only to stay busy, or to give Kingpin a shot at the HW crown, but to fulfill his TV contract.
Good for the fans, but being forced to fight is something different than doing it out of free will.
Nice paycheck for Johnson, though. And, depending how he fights, it might heavily improve his carreer. If he gives Vitali a technically solid and gutsy fight, he will receive some recognition. We'll see.
