I remember your sig quote was the one thing playing on my mind before, during and after that fight. It made an impression on me, and clearly Williams too! :laff2:
If only Martinez had more stamina, that fight would have been as lopsided as the bed of a 500 lb woman. Maybe if he had more time to prepare it would have made a difference. One thing for sure is, a lot of people were snoozing on him and now there aren't so many sleepers.

For sure. I figured going in that he was dangerous, considering all the praise that was being confidently heaped upon him (again, your sig being the most prominent), but what he did to Williams in that fight was baaaaaad.

I genuinely think Williams might soon end up on the road to being braindead after taking all those flush shots (plus the ones from Margarito). He already sounded punch drunk in the interview, and the smile was gone. He'll end up like Ali if he keeps fighting dangerously like that.

And when it comes to Pavlik, who knows. Drunk, aged, hand infections or not - he's still a force, and can't be taken lightly.

I feel bad for Pavlik, I used to love watching him fight but he appears to have some nasty habits. Hope that he can get back to his old self soon!

It wouldn't suprise me if Pavlik was on drugs of some sort. His brother or cousin I can't remember is the biggest thug in their family, and he got arrested for beating up his old lady.

I don't know who they were in relation to him, but when his corner people piled into the ring after the bell sounded to end the Hopkins fight, they all looked like a bunch of neo-**** skinheads to me. :conf1:

Seriously, when was Pavlik's last good performance?

                2007-09-29 159˝ Jermain Taylor

He hasn't done **** in 2 and a half years.

Sad, but true. Even in the Taylor rematch (which I had a draw), he only had some 'moments' rather than thoroughly beating him. He's never looked great above 160, and it makes him seem a bit Hatton-like in that respect... One-dimensional is right.

But, I still like his style when he's got a good thing going on. The MW division needs as many guys as possible right now (it seems to be run by Germans these days), so it'd be beneficial for everyone if Pavlik bounced back and made a statement.

It's all good and well for people to poke fun, but I just find it saddening that it's all gone so downhill.

So, whilst he's perfectly entitled to make his money and progress with his career, he hasn't gone about it in the best way. Him and his team could've chosen to handle things better in spite of the illness, such as dropping the titles and trying to regain them when they're absolutely sure that his hand has healed - rather than keep making fights and pulling out suddenly. Fighting another tune-up doesn't help his cause, either.

I still like the guy and want him to bounce back, but I can understand the joking around. It's very easy.
He did say he wants the winner, who is now Paul. If he ducks him for no good reason, then you can call him scared. If he fights him, then it simply could be the smart thing to do so, later. Paul beat Martinez, so now it is a bigger fight.

And I meant your Bernard diss.
