Mayweather talks about knocking people out and drawing blood, etc., but when has Floyd ever gone for a knockout besides the Augustus fight? He only ever scores a knockout if the knockout comes to him (Hatton, Corrales, Gatti, etc.)

      Mayweather: I'll knock out Pacquiao
      (UKPA) – 14 hours ago

Floyd Mayweather Jr has promised to knock Manny Pacquiao out when boxing's biggest stars clash next year.

Unbeaten American Mayweather (40-0, 25 KOs) and Philippines hero Pacquiao (50-3, 38 KOs) are set to meet in 2010, subject to the fighters finalising contracts for a March 13 welterweight clash at a venue to be decided.

"The thing is, I don't want the fans to be really shocked by what will happen when we do happen to meet up because it's not going to be anything new - he's been knocked out before and he's taken losses. I'll be victorious, you can believe it." Mayweather told HBO Television's Joe Buck Live chat show.

"Pacquiao's a good fighter but I've been around the sport a long time and I've dominated boxing for around 15 years now. No-one has defeated me yet so we'll have to see,"

The Las Vegas-based Mayweather also revealed the huge sums of money he gambles on National Football League games in the Nevada city's casinos, telling Buck: "I lost big this weekend, lost huge.

"Two weeks ago I won like a million (dollars), that was across a week of games, Monday night, Sunday and Thursday.

"I didn't lose a million but I lost a couple of hundred thousand," Mayweather added, explaining that he lost the money on the New England Patriots, who lost to the Miami Dolphins, and then on Drew Brees, quarterback of the New Orleans Saints, who sc****d a win against the unfancied Washington Redskins.

"Then I tried to get some 'get back' and lost some more money on Brett Favre (of the Minnesota Vikings)."

          Floyd confident of Victory !
          by Sinista_Samurai (U14184060) 09 December 2009

Floyd Mayweather Jr believes he will knock out Manny Pacquiao when boxing's two biggest stars meet in 2010.

The American and the Philippines star, regarded as the world's two best pound-for-pound boxers, are finalising plans for a welterweight meeting on 13 March.

And unbeaten Mayweather, 32, said: "He's been knocked out before and he's taken losses. I'll be victorious."

Mayweather's bold prediction comes as two NFL stadiums are reported to be bidding to host the 'superfight'.

Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys, is competing with the Superdome in New Orleans, as well as traditional boxing venue, the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The two stadiums could accommodate up to 100,000 spectators, while the MGM Grand seats about 16,000.

The latter venue staged both boxers' last fights - Filipino Pacquaio became a five-weight world champion following his WBO welterweight title win over Miguel Cotto in November, while Las Vegas-based Mayweather beat Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez in September.

Pacquiao's victory over Cotto completed an amazing 12 months in which he defeated ring legend Oscar de la Hoya as well as Britain's Ricky Hatton.

With the fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao expecting to surpass the previous record of $18.4m (£11,36m) for gate receipts, which was for Mayweather's bout with Oscar De La Hoya in 2007, promoters Bob Arum and Richard Schaefer are looking to maximise all possible revenues.

And Mayweather remains confident of blotting Pacquaio's record of 50 victories from 55 fights.

"Pacquiao's a good fighter but I've been around the sport a long time and I've dominated boxing for around 15 years now," the American said on HBO Television's Joe Buck Live chat show.

"No-one has defeated me yet so we'll have to see.

"The thing is, I don't want the fans to be really shocked by what will happen when we do happen to meet up because it's not going to be anything new."

I can not wait until March 13th and the biggest fight of my lifetime! I missed the Fab4 era and have always been envious of what I hear about the superfights between them, but this makes up for it all!

Going to be a epic build up and every fight fan will be making plans for it, but when its all done and dusted, I am confident that Floyd Mayweather beats Manny Pacqiauo with a breathtaking display of the sweet science and win a UD decision !

C'mon now Floyd, you couldn't KO JMM who was basically a punching bag, oh wait, a punching bag is actually faster than the JMM that Floyd fought. So again, how the **** Floyd is going to KO Manny if all he's going to do is back peddle and run. Everyone knows he doesn't have that much power and Cotto couldn't even KO Manny and Cotto is certainly much more powerful than Floyd. Typical, just keep talking thrash Floyd.

Anything can happen in the sport of boxing, heck in sports general for that matter. Floyd has great timing and knows where to hit his opponents weak spots. Just like it's not impossible for Manny to KO Floyd, it's possible Floyd can KO him as well. I've said before and i will say it again, i would never underestimated a boxer with 25 KO's in his record. Anyone can lose, Floyd has lossed before back in his amateur days and it can happen again, the same thing with Manny, he's not a robot, he's been KOed before and it can happen again. BTW, i am a fan of both Manny and Floyd, may the better man win.

Of course bro, totally agree that anything can happen. I believed that even more ever since Tyson got KTFO by Buster, that **** broke my heart. My point is, Floyd shouldn't be talking **** like that when his record and performance doesn't really back up his fat mouth. Floyd should seriously just STFU for once, but then again, that'll be more impossible than him KO'ing Manny. I do understand that he's all about selling the fight, but in this case it really isn't necessary. Everyone will be watching this fight because this is the fight of the century.

He never promised a KO. He said Pac has been KO'd and taken losses and that he will be victorious. That is not promosing a KO. But, I don't care if he wins by KO or a 12rd shutout. As long as he gets in the ring and proves it. Is all that matters.

Yep and Pac will come right to him thats why it can happen in this fight , I knew he would stop Hatton and won good real money on that fight , I see Manny more durable than Hatton so I think Floyd will more than likely put on a boxing clinic than stop Pac but its definitely possible , people that say its not possible are just in Pac fantasy land .
