How confident did you feel about Roy beating Ruiz?

Think about it, seriously. How confident were people that Jones would beat Ruiz. Personally I know many people picked Ruiz to win and many Jones fans felt unsure about the outcome.

I remember for me, I was very nervous about the fight and even shaking somewhat during the affair. Before the fight I felt Roy had about a 50% chance to win whereas in other fights I felt more like 100%.

9/10 of my friends said Ruiz was going to win. Half of them, said the exact same line:

"Dude, he has never been hit by a heavyweight. He is going to get knocked out."

They thought I was crazy, when I was telling them RJJ was going to knock Ruiz out. I was suprised he took him the distance, and I figured he was going to knock him out cold by the mid rounds. If they were to rematch today, I think the same story would be played out once again.

Ruiz Sucks, RJJ is one of the greatest fighters of all time. Top 10 easily IMO. I would rank him somewhere around the pimp in my signature.

I thought Roy was going to win but I am going to honest there was a little doubt in my mind. Mainly because Ruiz is a heavyweight and I wasn't sure how he would react to the power of a big guy.

        hmm

You know Roy sprained his wrist on Ruiz's head midway through the fight I believe it was. It was with a very hard shot that all the announcers took note of. Do ya think he would have KO'd Ruiz had he not messed up his hand with that punch?

LOL I remember that, I used to think Roy Jones was invincible. I mean Roy Jones is still the man but he once was unstoppable.

I think that would have been a definite possibility. RJJ had obvious trouble with his power after that. Being he is the most accurate puncher of all time, That "pick and choosing" shots was helping Ruiz out big time. If he would have let his hands go, regardless of the pain.

He might have finished the job.

But that's his style, and it has worked for him the most part. "what aint broke, dont fix it."

i thought had roy gotten hit it would have been over (and i'm a big roy jones fan)...that first round have be a heart attack when ruiz hit him with two big shots...but after the mid rounds i knew rjj had it under control...but IMO his best was his first tarver fight...crippled with the weight loss he dug deep and fought his guts out...

Yeah that was crazy in the 1st round when Roy got stunned, but then after that RJJR. just dominated Ruiz.

I thought Jones would win a boring UD...

I figured Ruiz could bear hug and frustrate Jones and land enough to make it interesting, and when he came out and charged Jones into the ropes and then landed a solid shot that momentarily wobbled Jones in the first, I thought Ruiz was gonna win...but after that Jones dominated and I was a bit disappointed but a little impressed as well...
