De La Hoya is not the same fighter he used to be but he still has enough tools probably to win the belts from Judah at welterweight. He is slower now but he still has got the big shoulders, ring smarts, good jab, hard hitting, and monster left hook.
i think the only disapointment in his career was his losses and like all true champions he didn't avenge them.
He also went on a bad note by being knocked out by Bernard hopkins,
to me he is only a second rate great.
Hell! he could become world champion but he is so concerned about becoming a more loving man outside the ring.
Oscar still has enough to decision Wright and/or Ko Judah. The issue is whether or not Oscar can be motivated to get in the same shape he seemed to be in vs Hopkins and Vargas as opposed to how he looked vs Sturm.
I wish fighters who don't want to fight anymore would just stop fighting. If De La Hoya doesn't really want it anymore he should stay out of a boxing ring.

Well, the reason for that is easy $10 Mil
It's no contest for him to fight and these days I dont think he even trains hard
see, me and you would probably stop after the first pay day.. but would we? If you got 10 and can get 10 more... why not do it again?
The more money you have, the more you want it... You know, it's never enough! Why do all the richest people in the world still work? They have enough to last for centuries...
