pac usually always looks great no matter the opponent.
even against made-to-order opponents like baldomir, floyd can't please the crowd.Comment

I agree, but like Roach I think Floyd will (or has) study Manny for habits, and he will probably try to exploit them. You're making me feel better about the odds of my favorite fighter. I still believe that Manny will also have some problems with Floyds style. Well they both will, but in the end the better fighter will win.I see Floyd having problems trying to figure out Manny's off-rhythm style. It's given everyone problems. And Manny fights from angles that conventional boxers do not fight from. You'll hear all of his opponents say the same thing... "I didn't know where the punches were coming from".
Floyd won't be able to do what he does best, anticipate where the punches are coming from. And Manny's fast enough to match Floyd in the exchanges. I like Manny's hook over Floyd's jab to the body or the head. And Manny's left hand will find its home in between Floyd's shoulder and right glove. It comes at the perfect angle and I see him landing that shot effectively.Comment

TS, if you think that a fight that was almost a decade ago is relevant to this fight then isn't Manny Pacquiao's KO loss to Medgoen Singsurat also relevant. Another thing is, if Augustus' unconventional style indicates that Pacquiao's style will give Mayweather problems, then isn't it logical to say that Marquez's counterpunch style is an indicator of Floyd giving Manny problems? Especially since Mayweather's ability to counter is leaps and bounds above Marquez. I'm not saying this is true but by your logic it is.Last edited by Rabbit ♠; 12-09-2009, 01:34 PM.Comment

Floyd doesn't have a typical rhythm either so Manny will have to be thinking a lot more than he usually has to. I think one thing that confused JMM was Floyd bringing back the jab...I don't think they were expecting to see that weapon used to frequently. It will be a highly interesting match-up.
As for the Augustus fight, that was when Floyd was in a phase of trying to fight aggressively and give the fans excitement of seeing him get hit and trading more. However, since then Roger has refined Floyd's technique and helped Floyd become more rounded. I remember Floyd Sr and Roger arguing and debating about the style that PBF should use, with Roger favouring the attacking style that he used vs Augustus.Last edited by apokalips; 12-09-2009, 01:31 PM.Comment

Another Journeyman that gave Floyd fits was Chop Chop Corley. Demarcus had Floyd hurt, cut and all busted up in the mouth. From the southpaw stance, Chop Chop was able to get his foot on the outside of Floyd's and land with that hook and the left hand up the middle or in overhand form. If Journeyman Corley can do this now imagine Pacquiao.Comment

Now Pacquiao has big fist, but I don't know if he is physically strong to pick up Mayweather. Still if he can get his hands around the neck of Mayweather, and pick him up...then damn...he would chokeslam his ass to hell, pin him, and win via brutal chokeslam. That's a big IF though, but I think Pacquiao has the ability to pick him up.Another Journeyman that gave Floyd fits was Chop Chop Corley. Demarcus had Floyd hurt, cut and all busted up in the mouth. Floyd's output is very limited due to his fear of getting hit and brittle hands. And Manny's output is overwhelming. If Manny can take Floyd's precision potshots, Manny takes over the fight with speed, power and output.Floyd doesn't have a typical rhythm either so Manny will have to be thinking a lot more than he usually has to. Nope, Marquez went to war with Manny, twice... Floyd ain't got the balls to do that.TS, if you think that a fight that was almost a decade ago is relevant to this fight then isn't Manny Pacquiao's KO loss to Medgoen Singsurat also relevant.
