For Floyd to be Floyd, he needs a Dance Partner

Floyd is a great boxer; so great that he can practically feel what his opponent is going to do next. He has said this himself. Floyd has been boxing all his life and he's become accustomed to out-boxing conventional fighters.

Manny is anything but conventional and he will not play dance partner on March 13th. Manny's off-beat, out of rhythm, all angles style will give Floyd major fits. Add to that his raw speed and power and you have the formula for 40-1.

The last unconventional fighter Floyd faced was journeyman, Emmanuel Augustus (Burton). Emmanuel lumped Floyd up and Floyd has stated on several occasions that Augustus was the hardest fight of his career. And EA was the definition of journeyman and a right handed fighter! But it was his out of rhythm style that had Floyd befuddled.

I agree, yet I can see Floyd disrupting Pac's rhythm, and frustrating him with the jab, and overall movement that he does while in the ring. Floyd will jab, throw his right hand ocassionally, and move out the way. He might Frustrate Pacquiao because Pac would be forced to chase him around the ring, which is something that in my opinion would disrupt his rhythm. On the other hand if Pac can cut of the ring effectively, and tag Mayweather ocasionally I can also see Pacquiao disrupting Floyd's overall rhytm, and giving him some fits. It's a give, and take, but ultimately the best boxer with the overall superlative game plan will prevail, and come out victorious. People talk about Floyd being a counter puncher, but seize to forget that Manny is one himself, but to a lesser extent, and not as good as Floyd. A prime example of this is Pacquiao waiting for Cotto to throw his jab only for him to counter it all night with a great right hook. Needless to say this will be a good fight from a technical point of view because I believe that it will be more technical then brutal, or as some of you desire a WAR. Nevertheless the best man will come out victorious.

I wasn't going to respond, but here goes:

All fighters need a dance partner to be great.

floyd can do thing to make it difficult for Pac as well. If he can time him well he can force Pac out of sync and force mistakes. Your right though Pac does provide a different look than others. One of the things I think Floyd has going for him though is that he can approach the fight a couple different ways. Freddie is good at game plans but Floyd may show him something different than what he palnned for.

I see Floyd having problems trying to figure out Manny's off-rhythm style. It's given everyone problems. And Manny fights from angles that conventional boxers do not fight from. You'll hear all of his opponents say the same thing... "I didn't know where the punches were coming from".

Floyd won't be able to do what he does best, anticipate where the punches are coming from. And Manny's fast enough to match Floyd in the exchanges. I like Manny's hook over Floyd's jab to the body or the head. And Manny's left hand will find its home in between Floyd's shoulder and right glove. It comes at the perfect angle and I see him landing that shot effectively.
