Hahaha. You're right about that. Although I bet Floyd doesn't fight like that. I mean seriously, these guys just go too far.

    "He fights like he's scared!"

    Really?

as a patriot to my country floyd mayweather isnt anyone I want to represent me or my country. as far as I'm concerned, floyd and his antics are what is wrong with our sport and what is wrong with a lot of different parts of our society.....

a persons conduct is more important to me, a lot of times i find more people who have more of an american heart and attitude from foreign countries than a lot who were born and raised here, because they know what the importance of a free republic is all about, while it lasts, unlike spoiled people who grew up in america thinking everything should be given to them, as it's a right and not a privlige.

people come to america to be homeless and risk having nothing because they know it's better than where they're currently at, and they know, they can make something happen because there is a real chance for someone to make his own destiny..............

Man blacks don't support ****. I'm black and I know first hand. Ask any rapper or athlete. I guarantee they will say 80% of the fans are non-black. Also not just with sports and entertainment, but also in the business world.

Is this thread a joke?? What do sports have to do with Patriotism? Most Americans do not follow the NFL, NBA, MLB, Hockey, etc. The fact that Floyd vs JMM did over a 1Mil buys is evidence to Floyd's popularity in America, look at the faces in the audience at that fight. I'll tell you what is a joke, the political system in the philippines, the idea that someone with a criminal record like Manny's can run for office is a joke. There is no democracy in the philippines, it's all based on his popularity. A country putting their hopes and dreams in the hands of an athlete is a joke as well.

i agree about the political system over there in the phillipines, actually their whole system is whacked, you can't even get a job at mcdonalds or cleaning toilets without a college degree!!! talk about keeping your people in poverty, it is a total popularity contest.

america isnt that far behind............. sad to say.

Americans are not that patriotic about boxing.

Boxing's not even a big sport in American. Most Americans do not follow it. Many of the fans are of Latino descent and really get behind fighters of their ethnic background, or in the case with Pacquiao, Filipino-Americans supporting him. Other fans support fighters who are from their certain area (Ward in Oakland, Pavlik in Ohio, Diaz in Texas, etc...).

I don't know anyone that rooted for Tyson over Lewis because he's American. It's because Tyson is a beloved fighter for the excitement he's brought. Mayweather tried to make the Hatton fight patriotic but not too many people cared. I went to a fight party and damn near everyone was rooting for Ricky.

The more patriotic fights that take place in America are involving fighters from Latin-American nations.

We celebrate our athletes, I think if Floyd had a different personality (if he were more humble and less of a conceited b!tch) then he would be more accepted.

They are always positive and patriotic for their country.

So how come Mayweather has such a small (compared to manny) following in the US?

I dont understand that America is such a proud patriotic nation, yet they turn their back on what i believe is the best pound4pound boxer of all time.

He came to London in the summer and he seemed so shocked by the good reception he got here.

I just think Flloyd needws more respect in America

but saying that i dont respect how he dodged quite a few boxerws , when he could of taken them out if only he took the risk!
His attitude stinks, too much talk, not enough action
