the paradox that floyd suffers from is being dominant in a way that forces us to question weather or not his competition was any good, or if he was just that much better than them, until he has that career defining fight, its very difficult. it was supposed to be oscar, it was supposed to be hatton, and now its supposed to be pac. floyd has beaten some decent p4p fighters at the time they were p4p, but the pac fight is THE FIGHT that will likely say alot and might finally be his defining fight. if he dominates, then we can say that yes, he was that much better than the people he fought. if he loses, it depends on how he loses, but either way, this fight will say alot of both of them, pac included.

With all the bias, I hope that Floyd wins this... I don't follow either of the figthers, but there's just too much hate towards Floyd.

I somewhat agree with that, but I don't question the dominance of Floyd Mayweather Jr. before he hit 140. The guy fought and dominated everyone he could. Since 140, he is not the same fighter and his level of competition has not been that much to talk about. The Pacquiao fight is definitely going to tell the story of Floyd Mayweather Jr., though I feel Pac's career is already defined, from here on all he is doing is adding to it.

truthfully, i wont put it all on floyd, yes lately it has been him, but there was a time, especially when he hit 140, when nobody was going out of their way to fight him. with pac, tons of people were trying to get a shot at him because he looked beatable. pacs promotional situation is different also. when floyd went on his own, it shut him out of top rank for a long time, until now.

its easy to sit here and say floyd ducked everyone, but i also weigh 2 things with him. at 140 none of the titlists really cared for him except vivian harris. and at 147, he freed himself promotionally to chase oscar, he got oscar and it made him alot of money, but he dominated in a way people didint like/appreciate.

i think he retired to give himself a break. at the very least, he didint hold any titles hostage and surrendered his ring magazine belt. honestly, im glad he left for a bit and didint chase that bull**** oscar rematch.

so if some boxer wants to take a break he should fake a retirement complete with crying effects on tv? retire without even knowing if u had ur "career defining fight" already? oh my...
