He did focus on the jab, but Pac started shredding him every time he used it, that's why he stopped.

Floyd always says he is going to dominate and beat up his opponent, and rarely does anymore, so this is just hype obviously.

If you can, please go watch the fight again. You'll see that Cotto's beatdown started when he was traiding with Paquiao. The round 4 knock down came at a time when Cotto was trading with Pacquiao. He took an uppercut and lost his senses and soon his will followed. This is why I say the fight would have been more closer is Cotto used the technique he used in the 1st round.

I'd say he was willing to lose the round to learn about his opponent instead of saying he gave it away. And, I'll say it again: If Cotto had kept on with his jab instead of trading with Pacquiao he would have made the fight closer.
