PUNCH STATS: De La Hoya landed 122 of 587 total punches (21%) to 207 of 481 (43%) for Mayweather. De La Hoya was also busier but less accurate with his power punches, landing 82 of 341 (24%) to 138 of 241 power punches (57%) for Mayweather.
Spoken like a true martial artist.
Sounds like that's from the art of war by Sun Tzu.
I agree 100% with you but then again, in martial arts, you know that strength is in how well you execute your technique. Cotto tried to out muscle Pacquiao because he was deceived into believing that he is the stronger man. He forgot about the technique he used in round 1. Had cotto remained focused on the jab, he would have made it difficult for Pacquiao.
that's just it.
everybody has a plan against pacman...until they start eating leathers.
and then they lose focus, did silly things for their demise. floyd won't be any exception...
This is not to say that Pacquiao can't be knocked out. No boxer is invisible of being knock out. Even lewis, during his prime and appeared to be invincible, he got knocked out. However, Floyd cannot capitalize Pacquiao's knock out losses as evidenced that Pacquiao can be knocked out because the knockout losses in Pacquiao's resume are not legitimate knockouts. His first knock out loss was in the hands of countryman Torrecampo. Pacquiao during the fight was ordered to wear a heavier glove because despite of weight reduction, he was still overweight. In the process, he got knockout because manny was weak and wearing a heavier glove. His second knockout came at the hands of a thailander during a championship fight in thailand. He was a flyweight champion then. Again, he was so overweight that despite reduction of any means they know, he came at the weight-in overweight, hence, he was strip of the title. He continue to fight anyway without bearing on his part but a belt for the thailander should the thai win. During the fight, he appeared very weak again and not in shape to fight because he was too drained. At the third round, it appeared he could no longer continue and drop himself by a single light punch and opted to be counted out.
All such knockouts, to my opinion are not legitimate. And besides, Pacquiao then is different than the Pacquiao of today.
all true and correct!!
let mayweather believe otherwise......to his own folly.
floyd keeps talking about manny as if pacman did not improve.
floyd is just trying to psche himself up....
he saw what happened to cotto whom he ducked....floyd is anxious now.
Their respective records show Manny has more experience than Floyd Jr. Both has not face each other until March 13, 2010. Manny has experienced 3 defeats & 2 draws while Floyd Jr. hasn't. What experience will he bring comes fight night? His 45 wins. Manny has 50 wins, too. I just hope Floyd Jr. will not act like a chicken in the ring as he brags about his style & tactics but I won't take that away from him. That's him. May the best man wins like what Manny said before the Cotto fight ....
Actually Floyd has 40 wins, 25 by way of................... Do you guys fact check anything before posting it. Or is it best to just throw caution to the wind and go for it? LOL
Floyd may be right but Manny is near the fighting weight now and does not need to pack on 12 pounds to come up to Floyd. Floyd has dominated the ring for a long time but so did Jones and Pac has so much momentum I don't know that Floyd is the one to KO him. Bringing up that loss stuff is kind of meaningless, negate the losses due to starvation and he has one legit loss- which he avenged twice over with ko's.
Sorry you are not right, im not agree with this. Mayweather avoided the dangerous w/w like Margarito, Mosley, Cotto, etc, while Pacquiao accept challenge and take risks like he fight Oscar, Cotto, Morales etc. If Mayweather is a #1 he must fight Sugar Shane and accept his challenge.
Are you serious, you left out a fresher younger version of Oscar on Floyds side, then talked of how Pac stepped up to take all the challenges and you included a 2 years older frailer Oscar. This is why you can't even debate with you people.
