Hey I'm just saying if it's okay to accuse Roy of it it's okay for Joe.

No matter how good or bad Pavlik was or is, here's a thought:

In Joe's book he said that Roy was washup and shot and not worth fighting. He then praised Pavlik. This was 2007.

    Then what does he do?

Suddenly Roy is in his prime and Joe is a legend killer.

And uh Annie, you need to look at the guy I'm responding to. He's a complete fool and should embarrass all boxing fans from your country.

Lastly, I think that guy was not implying Europe is a country, but to be fair if you can call all Americans "Yanks" I feel like we can call you the country of Europe (based on the Euro and NWO/Bilderberg conspiracy nuts )

If the Punisher & JC fought at 165,the Punisher has a serious chance of beating him,or at least making it competitive!!They both have excellent workrates & are easy to hit, probably fight of the year, real talk!!

Key aspects here are your wording, and timing.

At the time of writing that, and literally, Roy was coming off major losses and was written of as completely shot by everyone. He'd probably only had one win at the time, over Prince Badi.

Pavlik meanwhile was highly touted also by almost everyone.

So you can't really attack his opinion as out of touch or dodgy or anything as far as that's concerned. He was in the majority opinion.

            Come 2008 Roy has a couple of goodish wins, and most people thought he wasn't quite as past it as previously thought, again, like Calzaghe whom agreed;

Still past it, but not as bad as first thought. That also applied in 2009 with two further wins, and people were giving him good shots against Green, some even Hopkins.

Pavlik meanwhile, well, he kinda just fell off. He was shown to be far over hyped, no way near as good as previously thought, and has yet to improve his stature to any real degree.

Your implied assertion that posters from European countries would have a bias towards Calzaghe is what made me pick up on it.

Even disregarding the fact that this entire thread was made by a Fat Yank, the notion that someone from Armenia would have some form of bias towards someone from Wales because they're both "European" is LOLsome.

Who was thinking this? Complete nutjobs? Roy zombies? Joe nuthuggers? Nobody with any brain thought he was anything but SHOT to ****.

                  Anything else is nuthugging. Sorry.

Well the Roy fight was just a glorified exhibition match for the payday. The only surprise to me was that Roy actually KD'd him and won the first.

I do wish he had fought Moby just for the megalols, but I wouldn't say he "ducked" him. How can you duck someone who's two weight divisions beneath you anyway?

It was I that made the "europe" comment lol I was saying EUrope because many people here defending Calzag just so happen to be from UK, Scotland...etc...so to avoid the "listing" of all the COUNTRIES...i decided to say Europe (the continent) lol.

                      Thanks
