If anyone can enlighten me if i'm wrong here, isn't the reason why Pac trained in the Philippine first was to avoid taxation from the US?

That's what i've read on his Cotto fight and now Pac's team announced they will train again in Bagiuo, Phils for this fight.

So how can Pac be taxed by the US same as floyd who is a US citizen? I know very well all US citizen wherever you are currently living, you still need to pay taxes unlike pinoys if they earned it outside the Phils. they are not imposed any taxes.

It is complicated, but it has something to do with the number of days living in the U.S. If Pac spends a certain number of days in the U.S., during the course of the year, he will be taxed at a higher rate because he would be considered to be a legal resident. Since this is the first fight of 2010, he can train in the U.S. If he fights two more fights in the U.S. this year, he will have to train somewhere else to avoid spending too much time here.

Floyd hasnt issued a statement ever since negotiations were started.If you think he reacted to the press statements then you know nothing about negotiations.Floyd basically told Ellerbe & Al Haymon what he wanted from the fight.They in turn talked to Schaeffer and once Schaeffer knew he met Arum.Arum already knew what Manny wanted and Schaeffer & Arum signed a contract not to say anything to the public.What Manny was saying to the newspapers had no bearing to what Arum and Schaefer were discussing.Manny's type is the same,he doesnt change.He's someone who loves attention and says things without thinking.He's like Roach,the two of them just say whatever comes to their minds that's why there is no consistancy to what they say.No one takes what they say seriously because when it's all said and done Arum is the one who calls the shots because Manny is contractually oblidged to follow what Arum says.What you forget is that Floyd knows how Arum does business and he knows behind the scenes stuff that you dont know.His last worry is stuff that Manny says to get attention.

The taxes issues are a technical issue and even companies get sued for non payment of taxes.Sometimes there are genuine disputes regarding taxation and the taxmen loses as much as he gains because companies and individuals take the taxman to court.The taxmen gets it wrong too many times that's why every year tax rules are changed to close 'loopholes'.It's those loopholes which are sometimes misinterpreted by advisors so people should not even talk about Mayweather's tax affairs.

Why do you think some people leave their countries for some time,or why do you think Pacquiao ended up training outside the USA?Tax planning is an industry on its own,Floyd never said he forgot to pay taxes,he even reached a deal with the taxman.
