and regarding channel 9, do you remember who did the play by play on alot of those fights? the legendary chick hearns

if you have time, google up Oscar's pro-debut and listen to Chickie baby...sounds as smooth as when he called the action for the Lakers
I remember Chick Hearns doing the play by play. I don't remember the Oscar debut. I will check it out. Man those was some great times.

first time i saw PAC was when i vacationed in the Philippines...my cousins taped his fight with Sasakul and were all hyped up...i didn't really think much of him...thought he was just a wild slugger

then a few years later, that same wild slugger was on the Tyson-Lewis undercard lol

But, if you look at the big picture it was thought of Pac was going to be at that weightclass for awhile. So I thought he was going to fight Campbell eventually at 135. Nobody believe or ever thought in there wildest dreams except for Merchant that Oscar was going to come calling. So when Pac moved up he was too small to go to 135. But, for the life of me I don't see how anybody could believe Pac ducked Raheem or Bradley?

If Pacquiao defeats Marquez and then Diaz in July, the fight with De La Hoya, who says he will fight in May and then his career finale in September, is a serious possibility. Arum said part of his discussions with Schaefer while making Marquez-Pacquiao II included talk about an eventual fight with De La Hoya. "We all know it's a huge fight," Arum said. Schaefer confirmed that they've discussed the match.

I was a Ledwaba fan. I thought he was pretty good. Then he fought this Filipin. I didn't even know who he was. Never heard of him. And, this unknown Filipino fighter destroyed Ledwaba. I couldn't believe it. That unknown Filipino was Manny Pacquiao. That was my first introduction to Pac. That is when I became a fan of his.

                    shame.

that said true *******s were made 2001 after ledwaba fight or more likely 2003 after the barrera fight.

those who became fans after delahoya fight in 2008 are just bandwagoners or really young.
