oh hell ****in yea...my pops used to take me..i think they had fights on tuesday nights...back when it was called The Fabulous Forum (before it became the Great Western Forum)...i also saw MAB a few times and JMM there

and regarding channel 9, do you remember who did the play by play on alot of those fights? the legendary chick hearns

if you have time, google up Oscar's pro-debut and listen to Chickie baby...sounds as smooth as when he called the action for the Lakers

first time i saw PAC was when i vacationed in the Philippines...my cousins taped his fight with Sasakul and were all hyped up...i didn't really think much of him...thought he was just a wild slugger


then a few years later, that same wild slugger was on the Tyson-Lewis undercard lol

Cuz I could see why idiots would think that Pac ducked him. Or I could see how some haters feel Pac avoided which is different from ducking. But, rational true fans know Pac did neither. Could of Pac chose to fight Nate over Diaz as his only fight at 135? Yes I could say that. But, if you look at the big picture it was thought of Pac was going to be at that weightclass for awhile. So I thought he was going to fight Campbell eventually at 135. Nobody believe or ever thought in there wildest dreams except for Merchant that Oscar was going to come calling. So when Pac moved up he was too small to go to 135. But, for the life of me I don't see how anybody could believe Pac ducked Raheem or Bradley?

I was a Ledwaba fan. I thought he was pretty good. Then he fought this Filipin. I didn't even know who he was. Never heard of him. And, this unknown Filipino fighter destroyed Ledwaba. I couldn't believe it. That unknown Filipino was Manny Pacquiao. That was my first introduction to Pac. That is when I became a fan of his.
