This Is The Biggest Fight Since...

    When?

    Counting popularity, skills, competitiveness, etc.

De La Hoya-Mayweather wasn't really thought to be competitive going in, Oscar was out of his prime also.

Lewis-Tyson - Mike was some 10 years removed from his prime and the skills don't compare.

De La Hoya-Trinidad had 2 prime undefeated fighters fighting each other, but Mayweather and Pacquiao have proven themselves to be better fighters at this point.

Whitaker-Chavez top 2 P4P and ATGs, but did it match the popularity and hype?

    Leonard-Hagler

    Hagler-Hearns

    Leonard-Hearns

    ever?

If Mayweather could put on a Whitaker-like display (Like Pernell did against JCC) then of course that has to live up. If Pacquiao can make this really competitive and get the win, regardless, it lives up. Lets hope Mayweather doesn't mess up his hands, then it wouldn't be too entertaining.

Mayweather could have done a world of difference had he increased his output by 8 more punches per round against Oscar, a world of difference. Although I found Mayweather vs. Oscar entertaining, I admit that there was more Mayweather could have done and he didn't. Against Pacquiao, he'd throw more and Pacquiao has that style that alot of people love. I see this helping the sport.

Hope not, that would be a huge let down. It'd be great for Mayweather's legacy, but in terms of excitement and meeting expectations. I'm expecting the fight to play out evenly and have no reason to expect otherwise.

I wouldn't go that far, but it could launch boxing into an even better place then it is now. It's been a long time since a big fight has actually delivered.

Just saw Mayweather-Judah yesterday, man I didn't notice what small amount of punches Floyd threw. He's not gonna beat Pacquiao with 400 some odd punches over 12, even if he tries to punch and hold.

Pacquiao will be putting on tons of pressure, so Mayweather won't just be able to sit back and punch whenever he wants to.

I agree, I've been saying the same thing for a while now. Mayweather has to increase his output.

I'm going with Mayweather until I analyze more of their fights, but I see Pacquiao giving him as much trouble as anyone ever has.

He hasn't thrown more than 500 punches since he's been at 147. He'll be forced to throw more than that.

It does bare a similar resemblance to that fight I agree.......

Floyd will be trying to make it just like their 2nd fight, though. Floyd is too smart to fight hot-headedly like Leonard did.
