Neither will get the credit they deserve until they're retired.

Both are already HOF during their active time. And both will be ATGs when they retire, no matter who wins the march fight.

Of course you can analyze a fighter's carreer to the point that every win is just "so-so". There are people on the boards who do that for Ali, Lennox, or Tyson, and point out that even these ATGs had many mediocre wins. But it's not only the record which counts for history.

PBF has the best defense I have ever seen. He has many great names on his record. He is undefeated and is TOP3 for about 10 years, even if he fights not too often.

Pacman moved up five (?) weight classes and gathered belts in every class. He has impressive punching power, and seems to be getting better as he moves up. His resume is as impressive as Mayweather's, at least. He brought boxing into the spotlight of millions of people.

I give credit to both men, bitching/ducking/steroid talk/greed nonwithstanding.

Regardless of whether he gets credit I don't understand how people can ridicule his opponents yet claim his on roids.

1.) Cotto--came in 145, which every pound counts as a fighter. Was drained. His punch resistence was destroyed by a guy accused of plastering his fists.

2.) Ricky Hatton--who reportedly sky rocketed to the 180s after fights only to go back down. He has been doing it for years--a reason for his suspect chin. Was rocked numerous times with precision punches. Looked repeatedly drained in weigh-ins over the years at 140.

3.) Oscar--Nothing needs to be said--drained, old, couldn't hold a candle against an 8year old kid if he fought one.

*While some of these points are valid and plausible----how can someone say he is therefore on steroids if he was given the circumstances to get performances the way he did from his opponents? If they were already lined up for him to TKO/KO, which maybe true, why then accuse him of roids?

Oscar was drained and years past his prime
        David Diaz was a bum
Juan Manual Marquez was robbed of a win

Now people (including pro boxers that know a bit of what goes behind the scenes) are saying Manny is a juicer.

Will PacMan ever get the respect he deserves? Will he get it if he beats Floyd Mayweather?

Pacquiao is already way overrated.. end of thread..

In the boxing world. you only get credit after 30+ years being retired when the old fools and haters of this generation can't even type anymore because they are too old to use a computer. Or some.. dead...

These people don't appreciate boxing. They rather talk **** about boxing than actually enjoy boxing. They're not proper fans, they're bitches. Doesn't matter what they think because they're irrelevant. No-one can win a fight nowadays without there being a problem with the opponent. While me and you will enjoy watching the pac - mayweather fight for what it is, these boxing bitches won't. **** em!!!

Don't mistake the ranting of 4-5 idiots for a lack of credit in the wider boxing public.

95%+ of boxing fans and more importantly every boxing expert outside the Mayweather camp give him credit for his wins.

                    only the haters discredit him.
everyone else already knows he's in the top 20 ATG.

                    there will always be haters.

Man, Manny Pacquiao is the one of the best paid man in the planet.

How the hell you think he is not getting credit of it??

And most people agree that Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto was very impressive victory's in Jr. WW.
