palm springs is a hop skip and a jump from L.A and las vegas.
plenty of accomadations. bet they will makeway for more seats and standing room.
would think promotors will make big bucks for cheaper venue.
i mean even in vegas how many would go see them?
that many more than in rancho mirage?
would think tv money would stay the same.

I'd love to see it there though as it would only be a 45 minute drive.
You can't be serious saying that.

Why would the Superbowl help out Flint? Detroit is over 60 miles away from it. Better comparison is the PGA tour, since Grand Blanc is very close to Flint. Anyways, they could of sold more tickets if they did have it in Flint. I would of went and checked out the fight.

IMO this tells you one thing: Shaw could have sold this fight to the Nokia Centre in LA for considerably less money paid by the venue but would have had a packed house of about 5.000 people which, in the end, would have given him the same kinda money like the casino he selected - problem would have been that most people in the crowd would have been Abraham-supporters...
I would have liked it to be in Las Vegas, I'm planning to go there around that time.

After what happened with the California Boxing Commission and the home referee Jack Weiss in the Kessler-Ward fight, I'm surprised Sauerland would so quickly send another one of their top fighters to California.

It's close to LA, but it's a long drive to Las Vegas from Palm Springs.

They should have it in Detroit, maybe in Cobo or Joe Louis arena where Hearns used to fight, or in New York at historic Madison Square Gardens.

Well, Dirrell isn't a big star here, and Abraham has yet to make that many waves in the States.

Thats why they can't land a bigger venue. Promoters fear that tickets won't sell and they will take a loss

If Dirrell wanted more money he should have just fought Abraham in Germany. Abraham has a good following over there
