Most the oldschool guys were ,i have heard **** about fighters back in the 40s putting tacks in there gloves when they would fight black fighters so they could hurt and dispose of them quick, and if the black fighter protested they would simply disqualify him boxing has come a long way.

I don't think it was intentional and if they'd stop the fight it wouldn't have mattered as Kessler was not ahead at any point in the fight. They wouldn't have DQed Ward for a single fault either.
Remember Froch did hit Dirrell in the back of the head every single time they clinched (like Hatton used to) and wasn't even warned for it. The instant Dirrell pushed him he was deducted a point. That was blatant. Anyway a fault is a fault and no excused Ward did fault Kessler.

That's because Wepner kept rabbit punching him though and Ali did so in return.

        Sandy Saddler deserves a mention.

good point greata ,but he did it in more then just that fight ,but that was also a different era boxing was a lot more brutal most fighters then pulled dirty tactics.

Clottey has the skill and athletic ability, but I think he is lacking in the mental toughness department. He could of got Cotto out of there, but he didnt, his corner was begging for him to let his hands go, but he didnt.
During the training camp for the fact he was still partying with his girlfriend. Im also told that after the fight he blamed his trainer and fired him.
