Too many divisions as it is.
Always disagreed with this. The lower weights wouldn't be affected anyway. Just because there are lots of divisions below 200 doesn't mean they should stop. Everything above 200 is 'anything goes'. It's ******! Beasts like Valuev shouldn't be in with the smaller heavies.

I like it how it is now. Even though there's not anybody that good from 200 to 220 let alone 220 and over.

Seems like we need more good fights and this wouldn't be the way to get them.

I've seen 201 pound guys completely **** up guys 330 and so on.

I like it the way it is.

No. The heavyweight division is already awful and most of the best fighters are around the 220-240 lb range.

Chris Arreola may weigh 260 pounds but he is no super heavyweight. He only looked like one against a limited clubfighter in Brian Minto. I'd pick 208 pound Eddie Chambers to beat him.

We wouldn't see possible superfights like Klitschko vs Haye/Chambers/Povetkin with a silly super heavyweight division which would consist of the Klitschko brothers, Valuev and a couple of former sub-200 lbers who can't keep themselves in shape (Arreola, Solis).

No. A super heavyweight division would would imply that division had a champion who could theoretically beat any other man in any division. Why should there be a higher weight class when the Klitschkos are coming in at under 250lbs [and Lennox Lewis before them]. Another weight class would only make sense if the fighters at a higher weight were too much for the normal heavyweights. Most of the time, the fighters at a higher weight are at a disadvantage.

So no, absolutely not. The Heavyweight Champion of the World is theoretically the best fighter in boxing, so having an inferior champion at a higher weight class makes no sense at all. This is something that is brought up every so often, but I don't know why it is.

IMO, it is already to sparse. It is rare that we get great fights currently. More often than not, the huge lbs/inch difference is the only advantage those giants have.

Most recently I think it's because of what Manny Steward said during the Chris Arreola-Brian Minto fight, not noting that Minto is a 5'10, 210 lb (and not exactly "ripped" at that) HW with very little skill or talent while Arreola is a former 175 lber who has eaten his way to 260 lbs and who would have probably handled Minto even if he was still fighting at that weight.

I'd like to see a weight limit rather than a new division. Something like 250 pounds. I realise that this limit would make it impossible for fighters like Valuev to fight, but I don't particularly care. In an ideal world, the limit would be even lower than 250, at 230 or something. This would be unworkable though.

                    Meh.

If you are 6'7 or 6'8 250 lbs isn't particularly big.

And there are some pretty good guys who are 250 and not lard asses.

The big money is at heavyweight though. I guess that's why a lot of fighters do it. Just look at Eddie Chambers: he's a very slick fighter, but he's never going to beat a Klitschko in a million years. But the money he'll earn will be worth it. It was the same with Byrd and a lot of others.
