    my take on floyd-pac

im probably gonna **** on floyd and nut hug pac as this fight goes closer, so i better do this now...

floyd is obviously one of the most skilled fighters in boxing. he has excellent defense and an underrated offense. unlike some of you here, i think that he can definitely hurt manny especially if he lands something manny doesn't see. unfortunately, i don't see him risking going on the offensive against him. he would do what he has done in the higher weights, 130 and above, which is to pick shots, back of a bit, and wait for opportunities to counter. floyd's gonna treat him like a welterweight with power. pac would believe that he can take floyd's shots, which means he would be more willing to trade unlike when he faced de la hoya, where he obviously respect oscar's power. in other words, we may be treated to 12 rounds of floyd backing up, not wanting to exchange and manny chasing him around, and floyd countering. manny might be able to step in and work the inside, force floyd in the ropes, and if he lands, im confident that he will hurt floyd. everybody, even someone as skilled as floyd would have trouble with pacquiao's southpaw stance and weird angles. floyd may give up the early rounds, trying to figure manny out. if he does figure him out, then he would win by UD. i don't expect floyd to ko manny, but its definitely not out of the question especially if he caught him with something unexpected.

manny being the more active fighter gives him an advantage. his confidence is at an all time high. floyd on the other hand i don't think he truly believes that him dominating marquez means manny is gonna be a cake walk. psychologically, i think manny has the edge on this one. him also being the more active fighter also works in manny's favor.

the fight being at 147 i don't think gives anyone an advantage. the gloves, i heard was gonna be 8oz and the fighters has the choice what brand to use. floyd's gonna use grant, and pac would use cleto reyes. i think this works in favor of pac, since floyd would most likely aim to outbox manny, rather than exchange with him. floyd's hands can be hurt with the lighter glove used. manny would aim to lure floyd in a fight, and him wearing his puncher's gloves increases his chance of hurting floyd.

this fight is 50-50 for me, im slightly favoring floyd by UD.

yes... pac definitely has the psychological advantage. his dominance over top tier opponents is definitely an edge on him. floyd coming out of retirement and having a glorified tune up is not enough to convince himself that he would dominate manny.
