Martinez just as good as I've always said.

He is one of the "A" Level fighters of this era.

Great fighter and so is Paul Williams.
this was my first time watching sergio martinez fight and even though we share the same last name i didn't think he would be that good of a fighter he showed lots of heart fighting the bigger fighter and i thought he should haved won the close fight

I feel kinda bad for Martinez because i feel he beat both Cintron and Williams. He is a great fighter but has defiantly made his mark after the Williams fight.

I'm with you Augustus, I've ALWAYS been high on Martinez (if you don't believe me, check my previous posts) and I predicted that he'd beat Williams. Martinez is a Top P4P fighter, and while the decision could've gone either way, the good thing about this is that Martinez will undoubtedly got a new fanbase after this fight.

He's that rare breed of fighter that was just born with incredible physical gifts: the hand-eye coordination, the reflexes, THE SPEED, the ability, and on top of it all he has a fantastic boxing mind. He's an entertaining slick southpaw, just as fast as the Mosley's, Pacquiao's, and Mayweather's of the sport with an unpredictable style combined with a patient and calculating mind. It doesn't matter who's on the opposite side of the ring, he'd give absolutely any fighter problems. It's even more impressive considering he started boxing at 21.

He hasn't faced a lot of names, but the entire time he fought Cintron and for a lot of parts of the Williams fight, he made them look like they didn't belong in the ring with him. After the fight, Paul Williams called him the greatest fighter he's ever faced. Jim Lampley called him the fastest Jr. Middleweight he's ever seen.

And you have to remember, Martinez took the fight on less than a month's notice, and that was only his second time in 50 fights fighting above the weight he is at his best at: Jr. Middleweight. This fight NEEDS a rematch, and at 154 I'd take Martinez to beat Williams.

This was my first time watching Martinez fight. I was very impressed with what I saw and look forward to watching his future fights.

Do you guys think Williams/Pavlik would have been as good as this fight?
