Calzaghe should put a sock in it. His sugar coated career has been exposed in recent times. His wins over Kessler, Jones and Lacy don't seem so impressive anymore. Let alone a victory over a very old Bernard Hopkins. Beating a Chris Eubank in the Winter of his career counts for something I suppose, but an unofficial loss to Robin Reid, combined with the infamous 'slapping' and less than granite chin, don't validate the reputation that he holds. I was never a fan, and shouting from the top of the mountain isn't going to change that. He's always been outspoken, but come on Joseph, cool your jets a trifle.

As far as David Haye is concerned... climbing to the top of the weakest heavyweight division in history won't make him the phenomeon that he considers himself to be. On that note, I doubt his chin will hold up should he get caught flush by either of the two Klitchko's. Even if he wins a possible fight with Wladimir, a roll in the hay with Vitali might prove more competitive, or perhaps he'll just run for twelve rounds and still get the decision. Anything is possible in boxing thesedays.

atleast Haye have the guts to take on the best unlike the coward Slapzaghe.
well...at least call them out, get a fight, then back out!!! His resume is no better than Joe's at this point. Valuev is a bigger joke then Jone/Hopkins/Eubanks..etc......

David Haye will fight the Klitschkos eventually, He pulled out of the Wlad fight because Setanta was going broke which means he wouldn't have gotten any money. If you where Haye would you fight for free? I think not.

But yes you are right his resume aint any better than slappys yet but he has more guts and he wants to fight the best. He fought the best at crusierweight, Mormeck(in mormecks own backyard), Maccarinelli, Fragomeni(who later became the WBC champ).

And people talk about Calzaghe's Windmills of Death. Oscar = wack.
Good assessment. Although I think Hoya is much much better. Those windmills are funny to watch. Hoya presents them better than Joe did though. Hoya doesn't look as ******ed throwing them so I can accept them easier I think. But I agree you cant make fun of one without the other.....

FFS, your existence on this forum is about nothing except Joe Calzaghe. What's up with that? You only ever write about Joe Calzaghe and how much you despise him, as far as I've seen. You got issues brother.

Hopkins never came close to beat Joe

Hopkins was outclassed in a way that really suprised everyone. Pisses me off when someone supposed to know boxing claims Hopkins won that fight ???

We all want to see Haye in with the Klitschkos. That's nothing new, and Calzaghe entitled to his opinion.

Calzaghe's one of the greatest British fighters of all time. British media is always gonna be interested in his opinion of current British boxing affairs.

Did i say he's British as well?

Ok fine lets compare their resume's.

                    ODLH:

                    Julio Cesar Chavez(x2)
                    Pernell Whitaker
                    Hector Camacho
                    Ike Quartey
                    Fernando Vargas
                    Ricardo Mayorga
                    Oba Carr
                    Arturo Gatti

                    Slappys:

                    Roy Jones Jr(totally shot)
Hopkins(razor thins sd that could have gone either way, espn and associated press had it 114-113 hopkins)
Kessler(got beaten way worse by Ward)
Lacy(a c level fighter who never beat anybody of note)
                    Eubank

ODLH is a 6 weight world champion.

Calzaghe is a 1 weight world champion.

                    ODLH always fought the best.

Calzaghe avoided them and stayed home in wales.

Who did Calzaghe avoid? Hopkins, Jones and Taylor all priced themselves out of fights with him.
