williams has nothing on cotto in terms of resume. williams had a great fight and stepped up in competition last night. lets see him keep this up, and maybe we'll be able to compare him to cotto on even terms

Resume consists of who you beat, or who you had a very close loss to and by that Williams has a better resume than Cotto.

Wins over Mitchell, Margarito, Quintana, Phillips, Winky Wright, and Martinez.

Cotto's resume consists of Quintana, Judah, Clottey, and Mosley.

Yo, when will you get Cotto's nuts out of your jugular? Your always bashing him? You sound like a heartbroken girlfriend. Quintana gave Williams a lesson and Quintana didn't even belong in the same arena as Cotto. Yeah Williams blitzed him, but I doubt a third match will net the same result...

cotto beat quintana in 5 rounds. williams took a loss against quintana, then knocked him out in the 1st rounds. edge: cotto

phillips was a joke on that fight. old man with 10 loses, move alon

winky was coming off a 2 year layoff AND a loss. he was not only old as hell, but rusty too

martinez, quintana and margarito are his big wins

btw, you seem to forgot that cotto has beaten way more ex/current/future champs than williams. best of all, he didn't do se when they were old dudes coming from layoffs

cotto had a great career at JWW too, if you plan to include mitchell and phillips as great wins for paul, then include pinto (unbeaten prospect), torres (unbeaten, later a champ), sosa (proven vet), corley (proven vet), etc on cotto's list

I was responding to a comment someone made in a thread of mine. As for your post, I don't think Cotto would look like he deserves to be in the ring with Williams.

You seriously listed Mitchell and Phillips as a name for Williams' resume, but not Malignaggi, Torres, Bailey, and all the other dudes he wrecked at 140 for Cotto?

I think Cotto has a better resume overall, but it's close.

so one fight determines a fighters quality over another fighter? then why did you bother to mention the rest of their resume?

you make yourself look bad by contradicting yourself. thanks for proving my point further by not answering 80% of my post

EDIT: i forgot malignaggi on cotto's JWW resume too. did you forget about that part of his career?
