Well, i think Alvarez did a smart fight, he didn't fail in a brawl fight that Tyner was trying to engage, anyway i think he is far away from the big league and he should have at least 10 fights with tough and steel chinned guys like Tyner to learn what he have to in this sport before a WC bout.... He is only 19 and the people who manages him have to make a wise development schedule for him and dont allow to be rushed by mexican TV nuthuggers nor old hungered promoters....

Saul looked alright last night. I got the feeling that Tyner could hit him whenever he wanted. The last 2 guys to make Canelo look average were Larry Mosley and Tyner. Both American black fighters. Looking forward to see how Canelo deals with fighting the American Style fighters in the future.

These guys with these gaudy records come out of Mexico all the time, only a few have been for real. In old Mexico, the spectator is king, so they promote face fighting, especially on visiting fighters, as more entertaining than sticking and moving. With East Coast fighters and others, the pressure to expose themselves is lessened by a desire to look good while winning, usually expressed with good footwork and an educated left hand, not just hooks. Saul has the Mexican style, he doesn't duck or jab.

Alvarez is only 19 and already has 31 fights. I don´t know about his amateur background, though. I think he looked vary mature against a veteran with a granite chin and difficult style. As a matter of fact, Lamar gave him a lot of credit after the fight.

IMO, Canelo's career is going at a good pace. I think they said last night he fought 7 times this year.

It seems sometimes people look at a boxer's resume and because no household names jump out, they automatically assume every fight must have been an easy time against a total bum. I mean, there's tough boxers out there with ****ty records who can still give a prospect some trouble and help them grow.

And just because Chavez Jr. gets criticized for having a spotty resume, Alvarez shouldn't be automatically thought of as doing the same thing. I never saw Tyner fight before, but he's never been down and he wasn't an easy opponent. Even though Canelo didn't get the KO, you can tell if he keeps improving that quite possibly one of his trademarks one day will be that he's a great finisher (hopefully).

Who said Canelo did not dominate? I said he looked average. You can still win a fight and not look that good. I am a huge Canelo fan but last night he was way to easy to hit. he must improve his defense. Period.
