  • Why do you like your top two favorite fighters?

    Hmmmmm....
    Let's Hear it
I figured it would be too much to put top two favorite fighters of all time so let's just stick to active fighters..

    1. Floyd Mayweather Jr. - I'm a big PBF fan, because I love quickness and defense. When I first saw Roy Jones Jr. I was like damn this guy is good (I still think so by the way..) but then I saw PBF and his trademark ability to hit several times and not be hit and I was hooked.

P.S. That's why I also enjoy watching old P.Whitaker fights also.

    2. Mike Tyson - What other fighter do you know who, no matter who he's facing (top competition or not), will come out throwing bombs with every intention of getting him out of there. The power was and is still very good, but the thing I think what's underrated what I liked looking at (when he was in his prime) was the crazy head movement, his ability to close the distance on his opponent and deliver accurate three punch combinations (if they were still up after the first). I also liked his ability to walk throw jabs, when he didn't dodge 'em.

    1.) Jose Luis Castillo.

He is a war machine. Never been knocked down, or out legitimately (other than Soto when he was 9 years old). Beat cream of the crop competition, and has a serious shot at making a newfound name for himself when he beats Corrales. I have enjoyed watching him fight for so long now, its not even funny. I like his workrate, and stamina, and the way he joggs around after knocking fools out.

    2.) Floyd Mayweather JR.

The only person to "supposedly beat" my favorite fighter, and doubles as my second favorite. He has incredible ring intelligence, and underrated characteristics: Such as heart, determination, and Chin. People who doubt this, need to watch the Augustus fight again. He is exciting to watch IMO, and Just flat out rules. I like his workrate, Stamina, and the way he joggs around after knocking fools out.

Plus, the two are good friends who have made amends for things said and done in the past.

    Future Lightweight King.
    Future Junior-Welterweight King.

Wladimir Klitschko-his talent is immense, if he had the heart of his brother, he would be a beast.

      Marco Antonio Barrera-Where to begin?

Tszyu -respectful; seems like a good, family guy; fun to watch, hits hard & ruins careers (except Zab - he didn't take a beating though!)

Tito - Power, willing to trade & take a shot to give one.

          [QUOTE=Runw/knives]1.) Jose Luis Castillo.

I saw a young JLC get kayoed real bad back in '93 against Cesar Soto, a fight that took place in Juarez MX.. I believe Castillo was undefeated for that fight. It was for Sotos Mexican Featherweight Title.
JLC has come a long way since then, both him and Soto would eventually became world champions.

Yeah. Thats right. I forget about that. He never hit the canvas though. Rest of his losses came from cuts. Was he even a pro back then?

            Edited:

That and JLC would mop the floor with Soto if they rematched. No god damn doubt.

I truly believe that he did not lose his first fight against PBF.
I like Castillo a lot, the only time I was rooting for the other guy was when he beat the crap out of Juan Lazcano, who happens to be from my hometown.
Castillo is going places,we haven't seen the best of him yet.

James Toney - I've liked him ever since I was little. Old school, throwback fighter with amazing defense and natural abilities. An absolute joy to watch in the ring when he was at his peak. Despite his inconsistencies, he usually manages to use his superior knowledge of the sport and his excellent countering skills to dismantle his opponents. Although some hate his mouth, the man can be rediculously funny sometimes...and he's actually a very amiable guy in real life.

Erik Morales - What else needs to be said. A classic warrior who shows what Mexican pride is all about. I couldn't go a full year without seeing a Morales fight. His natural boxing abilities and great sense of pride make him one of the greatest fighters of the last 20 years. The man only fights the best and has provided me some of the greatest fights ever seen. If he goes up to 135, wins a belt, challenges a big dog...and either wins or graciously loses by going out on his shield, then I think he should be mentioned right up there with Chavez. Blood and guts warrior who redefines that saying because of his high level of skill.

Vargas - PURE heart, lotta pride like other mexican boxers
Roy Jones Jr - athleticism, used showmanship to his advantage

                  honorable mention - DLH, Tito

bernard hopkins- with 20 title defenses and being smart in the ring... even though he is not exciting to watch... cant question his skills still being on the top of his game at 40...

manny pacquiao- what can i say but my fellow pinoy... he did so much for his country and his courage and determination in the ring is unmatch imo... his willingness to take the the toughest fighters in his division... makes him a true warrior...
