Round 2: Williams still is shaken and getting beaten to the punch early. Martinez is out-hustling Williams both during clinches and from a distance. Martinez fires a four-pounch combination that baks up Williams, and then dances away. Williams continues to come forward behindhis jab, and Martinez clinches to stop his momentum. Martinez pounds home three left uppercuts at the end of the round. Martinez' s round, 10-9.
Round 3: Martinez won an early exchange by going to the body hard. Williams continued to move forward, and fire his right hand that was often short. Martinez moves in and blast home a right hand. Hands down as he moves away, Martinez effectively lands an occasional jab. Williams has trouble finding range with his jab and takes two, hard right hooks that hurt him. A left hook lands by Williams, but Martinez still is retreating. Williams jumps in and lands a couple of nice rights but Martinez clinches to halt his momentum. Martinez's right hook has landed successfully about six times in the round. Martinez's round, 10-9.Comment
