After another win over the aging Johnson, Dawson is consistently showing his technical ability to outbox, but has yet to be put up against another fighter in his prime. Hopkins, who at the other end of the age spectrum is still, albeit slowly, still performing as one of the best in the business.
Although still somewhat active, it seems to me Hopkins is getting ready to hang em up and putting on a show to get a few more big pay days. He still wants to fight Jones Jr., with the thought in mind he could avenge his loss to him years earlier, and get a nice paycheck along the way. After this, he may make his move up to heavyweight, which is somewhat doubtful but possible, to fight Ruiz, should he beat Haye.
Hopkins shows no interest in fighting Dawson, who himself seems to be avoiding Cloud but more than likely will have to fight him sooner or later. The light heavyweight division seems to be flat these days.
