By Jake Donovan - Once-beaten welterweight prospect Euri Gonzalez overcame a slow start and a near-knockdown late in the fight to score a majority decision over former world title challenger Cosme Rivera Friday night at the Miccosukee Indian Gaming Resort in Miami, Flordia.
Both fighters weighed in at the welterweight limit of 147 lb. for the Telemundo-televised 12-round main event.
The bout was unlike most Telemundo headliners in that the action portion of the telecast took a while to surface.
