    One of the reasons Tapia was so successful was his jab. The man had a seriously strong jab for his weight, if you'll notice. He sorta pushes all his weight into it, but not like George, George steps into it, Tapia sorta shifts his waist into it a bit more, while George just steps up and puts everything into it via one step.




    of course tapia was successful. with a jab like he had, which is the foundation of most fights, no wonder he was so damn good. ;p

    I bet he had some unorthodox jab training methods, maybe he'd put both wrist weights on his jab hand and throw it until muscular fatigue, then jump in the water and shadowbox underwater/jab underwater.

    I know for a fact he incorporates underwater shadowboxing in his training. it's a trait the greats share; hagler and now tapia for sure did that. of course it's beneficial, i'm glad i do it.
