Did Robin Reid really Beat Joe Calzaghe?

Calzaghe was given a split decision win in this fight. I had Reid winning rds 1,5,6,7-even,9,10,11, the ref took a point away from Reid for a low blow- so on that basis my score would have been 114-114. WIthout the penalty I had Reid winning. Interesting, Reid had calzaghe punch connect was equal after 11rds 199 punches each, and Calzaghe landing to the head more often and Reid more to the body. I thought Reid landed the harder blows but Calzaghe was more active.

          Calzaghe clearly won.

It was that same idiot judge Paul Thomas who scored Chambers-Dimitrenko as a draw, that scored Reid-Calzaghe for Reid. The two American judges scored it for Joe.

There should be no controversy about it.

            Joe Calzaghe's bad night.

            I thought he lost.

That said, Robin Reid back then was a world-class operator. People only look at fighters as a sum of all their efforts, but Reid was at his absolute peak and was driven by a devastating loss, this was Reid's big chance to achieve and he went balls out. He won it, imo.

            Calzaghe was horrible.

Back then though, Calzaghe had many very poor performances. He flattered to decieve and he wasn't very popular. Him vs David Starie almost killed his career in terms of tv revenue.

Calzaghes worst fight plus he injured his hand in the second or third rd and Reid at his best,Calzaghe won it for me.

Calzaghe seems to fight to the level of his opposition, he often looked god-awful against really average fighters.

Robin Reid was a world-class super-middleweight in his prime.

Not the washed up lingering fart of Robin Reid that got stopped by Jeff Lacy.
