Then Calzaghes hardest fight must have been Jeff Lacy!

Fighters say some strange things about whom their toughest fight, or best opponent was. Often just an ego thing, downplay the loss (or close fight).

James Toney said that the best opponent he faced was Mike McCallum, whom he went 2-0-1 against, and not Roy Jones, who all but shut Toney out.

Floyd Mayweather says that Emannuel Augustus was his toughest fight. Augustus showed guts but took a terrible beating and won maybe one round. Jose Luis Castillo fought on roughly even terms the first time around. Oscar De La Hoya, Zab Judah, and Reggie Sanders were all closer fights.

Mavrovic showed a great chin in getting the crap beaten out of him. Ray Mercer fought on roughly even terms for 10 rounds with Lewis. Evander Holyfield took 4 or 5 rounds against Lewis in the rematch. Hasim Rahman and Oliver McCall beat Lewis.

And Mayweather says his toughest fight was against Augustus.

They both won close to every round in those fights so whatever.

Lennox Lewis beat everyone he ever faced professionally. He never retired on his stool like that fraud Quitali Quitschko.

Oliver Mcall faired better against Lennox than that Quitali ever did.

His face was falling off, I think we can give him a pass on that.
