Knowrisk: floyd was practicing for manny in the marquez fight

I haven't heard this mentioned before. But did anyone wonder why Floyd suddenly "resurrected" his JAB? Clearly he noticed that the jab gave Manny fits in the first Morales fight. Morales and Floyd have the EXACT same dimensions as a fighter, 5'8 height 72in reach. I think Floyd was just getting "used" to fighting using a JAB. Which is why he didn't try to finish Marquez. He WANTED to get in rounds.
Floyd clearly was "practicing" for a fight with Manny. Anyone else in agreement or disagree?

That has alot to do with Floyd Sr. Floyd Sr. mentioned that Mayweather wasn't using the jab as much as he should have.

Would be really ****** practicing for Manny against a natural left handed Counterpuncher who has been taken out of his element.

Just admit Floyd couldn't knockout a bloated Lightweight and move on.

I doubt that. He could be resurrecting the jab but IMO he should have fought I southpaw or a volume puncher then. Jmm fights nothing like Pac. I'm more inclined to believe that he fought Jmm to make Pac look bad and gain advantage on negotiations.

So non of you guys thought it was odd that he jabbed THAT MANY TIMES? That was very un-Floyd like to me.

I noticed Floyd trying to incorporate the uppercut into his arsenal during his fight with JMM. Though he missed, I never seen Floyd throw uppercuts with that much commitment during his fights.

dominicano is right. It was because Senior was back in his camp for the 1st time in forever. Thats why he started using the jab again

Yes the 10 punches per round, complete lack of killer instinct is a winning strategy.
