I'm not protective over Cotto I'm just giving you a fact. If Floyd was calling out Cotto he only did it when Cotto was young and still a bit Green. And Floyd calling out Mosely at 21 is so laughable I don't even know what to say. When Floyd was 21 he was still an up and coming Super Featherweight while Mosely was already at welterweight fighting Oscar and Vernon Forrest. So if Floyd did in fact call out Shane when he was 21 then he was a super featherweight calling out a welterweight so it was obvious a fight that wasn't gonna get made and floyd wasn't in any danger of Shane accepting the challange.

cotto was between the ages of 25 27 when he refused a fight with mayweather. he AND his team claimed he wasn't ready. at that time the fight could have been made. cotto was never a older guy. today he is only 29. plain and simple. mayweather never ducked cotto. if anyone of the two did any ducking it obviously was COTTO. case closed.

He called him out again when he heard that Mosley and DLH were moving down to 147. Look for the video. And Mosley said he had a toothache. He said he was ready to meet them at 147.

Cotto and Margarito were no-names up to the point where Mayweather fought Ricky Hatton. Really it wasn't until they fought each other that the casual fan knew who they were.

Plus Cotto didn't want none of him back then. And Margarito was just a pawn in Arum's game.
