Does a Bernard Hopkins V Danny Green Fight Sell?

Sup... New on the forums, this is my first thread.

What do you guys think? Can a Bernard Hopkins Vs Danny Green fight do respectable numbers?

I believe it was Bernard who came up with the whole "beat a legend, become one" phrase in the first place and they've both thrown some shots at each other in interviews recently. Also, given how badly Danny just messed up the B-Hop-RJJ rematch, he has been getting some press in the States and his name has now been injected into all the Roy/Hopkins talk. So there is some storyline to go along with any potential bout.

I can't see this fight doing huge numbers or anything. But I think Green is somewhat marketable and I think if the fight was promoted right it could sell.

    What do you think?

I think the fight would sell in Australia, not in the US.

If you're talking about PPV NUMBERS, no. If you're talking about good numbers for HBO or SHOWTIME? Still, no.

Depends on how hopkins plays this, if he turns it into a race war like he did with calzaghe and trinidad, where it becomes black vs white or black vs latino again, and then add the american vs aussie thing, then I could see it doing decent numbers even in the u.s

In Australia, yes, definitely. It would sell huge. In the US, it would probably do better than most other opponents just because Hopkins can get another title and he would be fighting the guy that put Jones out for good finally.

Might actually be a half decent fight in fact.

It would do huge numbers in Australia and that, I would imagine, would be enough for them both to get it on. Why do you think Roy went out there in the first place?

^This is what I was thinking...

If a war of words really broke out between those two fighters I think it'd generate some decent press. I don't think the fight would do huge numbers... But it could definitely do something respectable if promoted right. It would be a huge fight in Australia, no question. But I doubt B-Hop makes the trip down under, regardless how much cash he stands to make for doing so.

Personally, I think it's going to take another high-profile victory for Green to even fall on B-Hop's radar. It's going to be interesting to see what happens in Danny's next fight.

If Danny fights any one of Dawson/Pascal/Adamek/Bute/Hopkins like he's being rumoured to, he gets sexually abused by any of them

If he does beat one of those guys though... You'd have to think a fight with Hopkins would be in the works at some point.
