Mayweather vs. Pacquiao: Another Problem on the Horizon

Just when we thought we had it. The mega-fight. There now seems to be yet another issue, and not from Mayweather whom many thought would be the problematic one in this negotiation and has actually been the one to “get it done.” But from Manny Pacquiao.
Pacquiao’s lawer, Franklin Gacal, when speaking with The STAR said “As of last night, Manny said he doesn’t want to fight in April or even May. There will be no fight. Maybe it will come after the elections,” said Gacal. “Everything will depend on the developments after the elections. But again, as of last night, the March 13th and May 1st dates for Pacquiao’s next fight are out.”
Bob Arum, Pacquiao’s promoter, flew to the Philippines bearing gifts, mainly a contract that Floyd “Money” Mayweather had agreed to. It appears Manny was not ready for Christmas just yet. The promoter may still be there trying to work some magic, and I still feel it should get done. Atleast it should, wait I said that but I’ll say it again… it should get done. Why? What Pacquiao’s going to take a 10 month lay off, and then come back and face an undefeated speed machine? There is still a good chance it will be in March.
Freddie Roach, Pacquiaos trainer, has said “We want it in March.” Well you got it. He has said also things along the lines that one or two more bouts for Pacquiao and then he can retire. It probably would have been a good idea, especially from a boxing enthusiast’s point of view, to finish up boxing then get into your politics especially when your so close to retirement anyways. Pac-Man is turning 31 this December so he does still have some years ahead if he chose not to retire. But to blockaid this with a political run, now, this!?
Look for more info to surface but if Pacquiao really goes through with this, and doesn’t make this happen… I know Pacquiao is a good guy, seems like one, so this is hard to say, but booo Manny. Just boo.
