Webb, grow up brother. It's hard to believe I've stuck up for you in the past, now you start trying to dump on me. Not cool.
You can see exactly what I'm saying, so let's not get it twisted up. At first, I questioned whether it would be a good idea to fight so soon, but said IF Pacquiao thinks he can do it, then why not. Three months is enough time for promotion -- my opinion has never changed on that, and it's got nothing to do with what I'm saying here: What I'm trying to do now is consider it from a fighters' point of view, and after further analyzing the situation and considering that all fighters need to rest between fights, fighting in March is not likely a good idea. Rest after a tough fight is vital.
I'm only trying to be humane about this. All fighters deserve the right to take a break between fights, especially at this level, right? Again, if Pacquiao fought Mayweather in March, it would be his third superfight in the span of 10 months, and that would include over 6 months in hard training. Think about that. The training alone is punishing enough. Is it fair to expect an athlete to enter possibly the biggest challenge of his career on such short notice?
And would Floyd do it? Hell no, of course not! He wouldn't fight Cotto and Pacquiao in the space of 4 months, nor would I expect him to. Some of you guys need to stop being so unreasonable. Try to be understanding as fans of the sport, and as people who respect the fighters.
