....I hear ya, but how can you rank Byrd with Vitali currently. Yeah, he got an injury win years ago and I know a win is a win on the record book but look at their recent history. Byrd is lucky to still have a belt and has been outboxed in at least two of his last three fights and gotten the decision. Vitali on the other hand has been dominating and he fought and beat dangerous guys who most would not want to get in the ring with. Sanders is one of the most dangerous heavies in the last 20 years. Look into it and you will find that Sanders and Lewis were good buds and kind of stable mates and Sanders says that Lewis would never give him a fight because he thought Sanders was too big of a risk. Corrie Sanders could punish any heavy who ever lived with one shot if they made a mistake. Bringing Ruiz into the best heavy debate is a ****in joke BTW. That guy is a disgrace to boxing with his bull**** tactics. It's totally illegal and it's ***** ass boxing as well. He is so scared to get the TUA treatment again that he tries to cheat his way to an ugly decision win. Absolutely ****in disgraceful. If you can sit here with a straight face and rank Byrd and Ruiz with Vit then your one hell of a poker player my man.

I don't rate either of them at the top. As far as I'm concearned the position is vacent until someone gets all 3 major titles.

Say what you will about Byrd, he's been winning for 3 years straight, and defending his title for two years longer than Vitali.

You can call Corrie Sanders and Danny Williams dangerous all you want. They were FRINGE CONTENDERS. Sanders was 38 years old, and overweight. Willams was only there because he beat Tyson, who wasn't ranked at all.

Sanders lost to Rahman, and was KO'd in TWO rounds by Nate Tubbs.

Danny Williams was knocked out by Sinan Samil Sam, and out pointed by Michael Sprott.

Neither of those wins were impressive, because both of those guys had no business fighting for the WBC title. They have both
    lost to terrible terrible fighters.

Until Vitali actually beats another title holder, I don't give him all the credit I see so many of you throwing around.

As it stands now, he's not fighting again until at least Sept, when he'll likely face Rahman, who alreadly was clearly beaten by John Ruiz.

So weather you like what I have to say or not, don't tell me I'm being hateful or unfair.

I explained to you why I feel the way I do, and I'll leave it at that.

Hopefully Toney gets rid of Ruiz and fights Byrd, leaving the winner of that fight to face Vitali early next year where a all these debates will be answered difinitivly.

.....Not gonna call you hateful or unfair. I was actually refering more to Sanders and Johnson and not talking about Williams necessarily. However, Williams had just conquered Tyson and his confidence was sky high and he felt like he could truly whip Vitali. How can you compare Byrds ****ty wins over Golota and Oquendo when you know he probably lost both fights. Vit has dominated in his last three fights. Hell, if McCline wasn't such a ***** he would have taken Byrd out early when he had him hurt. How the **** can you justify Byrd being ranked with Vitali after his last three fights? There is an old saying in the mortgage/finance business. You are only as good as your last month, or your last year. Byrd has been **** and you know it. Do you truly think a Byrd/Vitali fight would be competitive?? Byrd is on the decline and Vitali is on top of the world right now with sky high confidence. Vitali was the better fighter back when Byrd was peaking. Do you seriously feel that Byrd would pose a threat to Vit in the ring today? ha ha ha ha ha ha If you say that Byrd could hang with Vit if they fought then you would look like a fool. So, tell me why Byrd(while losing his speed and being easier to hit every day) would be a threat to Vitali. Keep in mind that Vitali outboxed him back when Byrd was slicker and harder to hit.

A win is a win. You might score one fight one way, someone else might score it another way.

Again, Byrd hasn't lost in 3 years, and has been defending his title for 2 years longer than Vitali.

Destroying your competition isn't impressive when they're fringe contenders that don't deserve to be there.

Again Nate Tubbs destroyed Sanders much quicker than Vitali did, and when Sanders was much yonger. Sam destroyed Williams two rounds quicker than Vitali. That's two lesser fighters destroying the terrible fighters quicker.

I'm not trying to change your mind, I'm illustrating why I feel the way I do.

Again I'll reiterate: Until he DOES beat Byrd, I'm not going to give him credit for doing so.

I heard and understood that you think there's no way Byrd would win, but the fact remains Vitali lost agaisnt Byrd already, and has yet to beat him again. Until he does (or beats whoever is holding the other two titles) I don't give him credit for doing so.

I think I've made it clear what I think and why I think it. If you disagree with me that's fine, but I've now thoroughly explained why I feel the way I do, and I don't think it's out of line.

....Alright man, you got your opinion and I have mine. The last thing I would ask you to consider is whether your opinion or mine is more palitable from the standpoint of the knowledgeable people on this forum and/or the boxing media?

I believe I already answerd that.

You can feel that way all you like, I disagree. I don't care if 100% of the people here don't agree with my take or hate me for it.

This really won't be resolved until he or someone else unifies the titles.

If and when he does unify the titles, I will give him all the props in the world.

Until then, I will continue to be unimpressed with him beating the guys he's beating, including if and when he beats Rahman, who again, was alreadly clearly beaten by John Ruiz.
