As for Byrd, Byrd was and still is available, but Vitali is (for some reason) fighting John Ruiz's leftovers.

Ali had Parkinson's disease, he was already slurring his words when he fought Spinks those two times. Louis came out of retirement, and didn't really train. Lewis, when in shape, was the most effective he had been in his career when he retired, and that showed in the Tyson fight and the Rahman II fight. He may not have trained properly, but the only difference was that he was in with a big strong man like him that he couldn't rough up by leaning his weight on his opponent and hitting him, and that man was hitting him back instead of letting him do what he wanted to. Sure, VK lost the fight and all, but don't try to compare the fighter he lost to with a 36 or 38 year old Ali, that's reaching.

      If, If, If...

If B-Hop weighed 250 lbs, he wouldn't be as fast, and he would have a punch. If VK weighed 160 and was 6 ft, he would be a lot faster and look a lot less clumbsy. If I was black, I wouldn't be white. VK's size get in the way of rating him objectively, but it's what makes him VK lol

I read a couple dumb ass posts and have to comment: to whomever said that Byrd started doing better in the later rounds, hitting VK with some good body shots. DUH. VK could only use one hand. How could he not start hitting him with shots. Byrd didnt figure VK out, he was winning those rounds against a disabled dude...

That was me, and Holyfield sustained a nearly identical injury vs. Byrd (in the 1st round), and finished the fight.

Its no coincidence Vitali injured his shoulder in with Byrd. Byrd took advantage and kept pressing, Vitali opted to give up his title rather than deal with the pain for 4 more rounds.

The context of that comment was that it was a legit loss Vitali.

Lewis beat a washed up Tyson in a fight where he was 36, and Tyson was 35. Lewis then took off a year and put on a bunch of weight, and came back to fight Vitali
              when he 37.

He had been inactive, came in at his highest career weight (256.5), and was 37. That's far from a prime and conditioned Lennox Lewis.

He tore it in the 4th, as I understand it.

its hard to say about vitali, there is no one he can fight to prove himself, he needed the lewis fight very badly, but lewis retired.

well if he fougth 7 rounds with a torn cuff and the fight lasted to the 9th, stopped before the 10th began, it would be the second round. some people say round 4 i hear round 2, either way fighting 5-7 sounds with that injury liek that isnt god. and hell if fighting with an injury makes u a ***** ass ***** and makes u quitali hell where do i sign up?
