Why is he running for office when his bread and butter is fighting. He is only 30 years old and this is his second attempt at running for office in the Philli. I honestly think he is using this as a excuse not to fight Mayweather.
WHy wont he wait until he retires and then Campaign?

well, Pac was already planning to run even before he beat Cotto so I highly doubt that he chose to run just t avoid fighting FMJ. It doesn't make sense since he's going to rake in millions win or lose. Nobody walks away from a guaranteed purse worth millions.

And politics was always in his mind and as you said it's his second attempt to run. I'm not sure what his motivations are and I'm baffled. I'm sure it's not money since he can earn a hell of a lot more with boxing.

Perhaps he wants to add being a congressman among his achievements.

That being said, I hope that this fight happens. Pac vs FMJ must happen in 2010.

ts, really, sometimes people do things altruistically. Pacquiao is a philanthropist. However, I don't believe he can best serve his people this way. Ever see Night Falls on Manhattan?
