Calzaghe is the British version of Mayweather Jr, who fought handpicked opponents and whose only real challenge was an over Forty Hopkins and he barely won. If Hopkins were to beat Haye, Calzaghe becomes an afterthought compared to Benard and would put Hopkins on another level of legends. Kinda of reminds me of how Mayweather Jr is jealous of PacMan for being a taking the risks he only dreamed of taking. Calzaghe needs to shut the **** up and go dance like a fairy.

so when someone looks bad in a fight after losing too hopkins its because 'hopkins took their soul'
when someone looks bad after calzaghe beats them, its because they are **** and calzaghes resume is weak?

            • Am I underestimating the size of Hopkins and overrating the size of Haye.

I just can't see this as a close match.

You Calzaghe haters don't give up do you? Ward beats Kessler and now is considered one of the best SMW's in the world and yet Joe's carreer takes a hit because he beat him more then two years earlier? By the way how many of you believe Kessler can still beat most of the top ten SMW's? And I also have to ask what has Kessler done since losing to Joe? He fought a slew of bums while he was wrapped up in a major legal mess. And as they say styles make fights and Ward beat the Dane the same way Joe did by out boxing him. And as far as the Jones fight. Green was a former champ and his only loses were to two other former world champs and he has over 80% KO percentage in his fights. So, at least to me, it was no big shock that he knocked Jones out. With that said it would have been a hell of a shocker if he had out boxed Jones over 12 rounds on his way to winning a unanimous decision the way Joe did. And the last thing is in five or so years you Calzaghe haters can sit around and piss and moan as Joe is inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in the first year he is eligible.

                • I would bet all the **** I own on Haye KOing Hopkins.

Hopkins should be praying Ruiz can somehow clock Haye and then fight him, Hopkins doesn't have anything in the way of punching power or punch output to stop Haye from smashing his face in.

I don't think Haye gets enough credit for his speed and power combined. He can knock out any fighter in the world nevermind a 45-year old ex-middleweight having his first fight at heavy.

What? Haye won't land in 36 minutes of boxing on Hopkins. Yes, yes he will.

If a 45-year-old Hopkins beat Haye I'd regard him as an all-time great in all honesty.

Carl Thompson was LHW, 40 and knocked Haye out. Haye was 24 and had more power back then.
Hopkins is vastly better than thompson. Hopkins has a great chance of winning this fight with movement and defense.

                    • I want this fight to happen.

I mean Haye will get no credit, but it will be funny seeing Hopkins end his career getting Brutally KTFO in front of a jeering, laughing, hostile crowd.
