    Detroit area Golden Gloves

I just finished working the Detroit area Golden Gloves. Tonight, in the first round of the tournament, we only had 7 bouts. The competitors of the night were rather inexperienced but they put on some really good scraps.

Tomorrow night the next round will go on and we are expecting the more experienced boxers to be participating and are expecting 27 total bouts for the evening.

If your in the area come on over and check them out. They are being held at the Gibraltor Trade Center in Taylor, Michigan, and will start at 1pm. I'll be out there refereeing and judging so if your out there come looking for Rockin', I'd be more than happy to meet with anybody on this forum. Especially Cre_Ace, that fat F**K!!!!.............Rockin'

We had some really good bouts going today. Reffed 7 of 'em and did administrative work for the rest. If your in michigan come down and check out the finals today, sunday 1pm. I believe that we have about 20 bouts scheduled. The finals are always hard fought bouts.

They are being held at the Gibraltor Trade Center in Taylor and begin at 1pm. Check them out if you get a chance, there were some very entertaining bouts yesterday and I expect the same today, if not better...........Rockin'

          hmm

I hope you are a good judge.

In MS there were some very bad calls. Couple of them were outright robberies (where the scorecards take a long time to get there and it's obvious there was judge coercion) and sometimes I think the scoring is just bad. Whoever lands the most punches shouldn't neccessarily win the fight. That's why I know some judges who will add punches onto one fighter's card if he thinks he won the round.

But hell, half the time the judges don't even score body punches or get the total amount of punches landed correct.

In amatuer boxing, whoever lands the most blows should win the fight. It is not based on aggression or who landed the most telling blows. Its is very simple, who ever lands the most in the amatuers should win the fight.

I count body blows in a big way, I reward the skill of working the body well. I do agree that some judges dont seem to reward it, but I appreciate that kind of work. We just finished our Golden Gloves tournament and we did not have a bad call. A couple of fights we very close and people bitched about it but thats just the nature of the game.

And let me make this perfectly clear, I AM NO HAROLD LEDERMAN. I am better in my humble opinion. Give me a few years and you will see for yourself on the television..............Rockin'
