Will Pacquiao be ruined by politics?

With Pacquaio's recent (and most frustrating I might add) announcement that he will delay the Mayweather fight until after the elections in the Philippines, do you think that the corrupt political arena in the Phils will taint the humble Pac and turn him into the traditional Filipino Politician (Corrupt, Controlling, Power hungry) or do you think his defense will be good enough to come out of this unscathed?
