Is Calzaghe the most OVERRATED fighter of this era?

Carl Froch is thrash but he is in no way overrated, I don't think "shade darker" knows what the term overrated means. As you said nobody except maybe the "slimshandy" guy is saying that Carl Froch is a great fighter.

just a lesson for you noobs, just because a fighter is thrash doesnt mean he is overrated. if that was the case then i guess Marco Antonio Rubio(just an example of a thrash fighter) is overrated aswell?

Its hard for me to realize how a guy who has won every match he's fought in, held a division at hostage for 12+ years is even brought up in the same sentence as OVERRATED.. He may not be the most exciting (he is a show-man) he may not be the most marketable but the fact is he is a ATG top 150 ever!

Miguel Cotto and Bernard Hopkins have both accomplished WAY MORE than Calzaghe has. yet they are more overrated? **** off. and nobody except maybe 1 or 2 delusional fans are overrating carl froch as far as i know.

Yes he is by far the most overrated fighter, not only of our era but probably of all time aswell. I dare anyone to name a fighter more overrated than Joe Calzaghe, I shure as hell can't come up with one.

not on paper, no, but i'd really like someone to explain how Calzaghe loses to anyone during his career. we can say a younger Hopkins would beat him, and i can say it's possible. a prime Roy Jones, yes, it's possible. the same Tarver that knocked Jones on his ass, very possible. Glen Johnson, at one time, yes. sure, ofcourse. theres probably some european fighters that could of should of would of too.

overrated is not the correct term for Calzaghe. fighters that are overrated get beat, no matter when they take bigger challenges. after Kessler, he really had nothing left to prove. Even if he returned to fight Dawson, or the winner of the super six, or even Bute and won. everyone would still say he would of got knocked out earlier in his career, that he avoided tough opponents, and was too protected.

i just see him as he is. one hell of a boxer.

Well go through your own posts for a start, if i remember correctly wasn't you the one who said that Calzaghe should rank higher than Roy Jones and Hopkins? and that Calzaghe would knock out a prime Hopkins when he barely beat a past prime 44 year old Hopkins? If it wasn't you, ok cool but beleive me you Calzaghe fans have said some pretty delusional stuff.

Sven Ottke had 21 title defences and retired undeafeted just like Calzaghe. yet I don't see a bunch of Ottke fans proclaiming him as one of the best of all time and that he would have beaten a Prime Roy Jones Jr.

He NEVER held the SMW division Hostage. Holding a division HOSTAGE is when you are the undisputed Champ. It took Calzaghe TEN years to finally grow balls to try to unify. He is overrated because his best PRIME fighter wins are LACY and KESSLER. *who are C level fighters, Kessler might be a B level* and his Stand out wins are a 40 year old Jones *WHO IS SHOT* and a 43 year old Hopkins who he barely beat and wont do a rematch.

In my book, thats overrated. if you dont think so, then i dont know what is to you.
