I gained MAAAD RESPECT for Guzman this past Saturday..don't wanna say he got blown out..but he did get a gift..no doubt..but like I said before..his tremendous display of heart and versatility showed up..and I LOVED it..he gained another fan here..and those who knock him..should be ashamed whether it be Champ or Dondi..cuz he didn't ask for a gift..and he didn't take the easy route out neither..he went fought his ass off..bloody face and all..and took it all the way..that in my book is mad respectable..no way around it..
I'm happy someone could give Guzman this kind of respect

From a TRUE Boxing fan..he deserves it..no doubt..

I kinda questioned his heart when he refused to fight Nate Campbell..and his inactivity was Clottey-like..but even he said he didn't love the sport that much anymore..or atleast that's what I heard someone say on Saturday (Kellerman?) but if he found that love again..and gets back in full force..he can damn well beat Funeka and take the 135lb crown!..maybe even be a force in the 140lb division..I still wanna see him in there with Campbell..and maybe even Khan..that would be great!..

mad respects to guzman he showed tremendous heart no doubt about it

but the draw was just ridiculous, far worst than diaz vd paulie IMO and there has been much more controversy about that.

Mad respect to Guzman. He is a warrior but Funeka clearly won the fight and Gary Shaw, who I usually dislike, handled himself with class and dignity and was spot on.

I can respect it, but when you say we hate Ricans, you're looking at it from a skewed perspective.

Don't expect our fighters to get attacked (even before the fight too) for little reason and for us to just eat that. It's unfortunate, but when you're favorite fighter gets bombarded by other fanbases, it's what happens.

              We're good though.

It was an inside thing about Dominicans hating Ricans..It was in another thread when I asked why do y'all hate each other and asked if it was because of baseball and a few said yea..and he (Kevin) went on about how many rican friends he has and how it's an overrated beef and not true..so I was just joking on that..

but every ones favorite fighter gets HATED..like Cotto (My personal favorite) look at my sig..and tell me it's not true..he hasn't ducked anybody..win or lose..and he still gets hated on?!..how can someone claim to be a fan of the sport and hate on a warrior like Cotto?..

Just gotta roll wit it..laugh at the nuthugging haters and keep it moving..but I feel you..we all good homie..

Guzman has great heart and deterimination, but the real story is Funeka being one of the worst robbery victims I have ever seen. Guzman won the first 2 rounds, but lost the next 10. Shaking your head at Funeka for missing won't score any points, but it apparently did. He gutted it out like a true a warrior, but he deserved to lose because Funeka was just better that night.

Despite showing a lot of heart, Guzman can only live off potential for so long. Being inactive and not making weight is can kill a career, but Guzman has gotten many chances. Guzman probably would have lost that fight anyways because he looked rusty. He's only fought twice since 2007. He was doing well the first two rounds because Funeka wasn't doing much, but when Funeka started jabbing, Guzman was lost and the rust really showed. He'll probably do better in a rematch, hopefully they will have one.
