As I was watching Bute dismantle Andrade the other night I had a thought. Showtime was fledgling and struggling along behind HBO and then they had a wonderful concept in The Super Six. The Super Six did a lot to boost Showtime amongst boxing fans. HBO sat on the sideline and silently admired the concept. Then HBO went on the the attack. They thought of how they could capitalize off of The Super Six. That's when they though they need to build Bute as an HBO fighter and have him ready to go to war with winner of The Super Six in an undisputed title fight at 168 live on HBO PPV four to six months after the conclusion of The Super Six. Kellerman even made mention to the relevance of The Super Six on HBO airwaves the other night. HBO now wnats The Super Six to be highly relevant and build up the eventual mega million dollar showdown with Bute on HBO PPV Genius concept by Showtime.....a more genius response by HBO.

Getting Bute is a smart stratagy seeing as after the Showtime touney took shape all they had was their **** in their hands. A blind monkey could have come up with that ****.
I'm a Bute fan and do like his chances vs any top 168 lb fighter (abraham, ward, kessler, froch) but it still is alot of hope to rest on just him. Bute vs the world sort of thing.
Anyways, Bute should have been in the super 6 and top guy at 168 can't be determined until super 6 winner fights Bute so HBO getting behind it is a good thing in my eyes. and smart for them as you mentioned.Comment
