And it works out PERFECTLY. The winner of the Super Six can fight Bute for the RING BELT.
Bootay took the easy way out and didnt want to go near the Super 6 because he would lose his 0.

2 wins over some dude named andrade even though
bute got ko'd in the first fight
a win over journeyman sakio bika
and in 2008 a win against old over the hill william joppy ( i know i thought he was retired too)

so butes best win is over a guy kessler beat the crap out of 2 years ago?
id have to say ward has the better resume.
Bute was not KO'd so lets stop with that bull****. Ward olympic gold medal does not count in pros. Andrade and Bika are top 10 SMW are they not? And, by all accounts SMW is a pretty good loaded division right? And, yet Bika and Andrade are top 10 in a pretty good loaded division. Ward a beat a shot Miranda he not even a gate keepen no more. But, if Miranda beats steiglitz then the win becomes better for Ward. Where the argument could hold water. Bute also has win against tough fighter like Alehandro Berrio and Fulgencio Zuniga so again Bute has the better resume at 168.

Froch looked good against Pascal, knocked out Taylor, and beat Dirrell in a close fight.

Ward beat Kessler. So, while Wards win over Kessler is more impressive than any of Froch's victories, the Cobra still has the better body of work.

I think resume wise, Ward should be #1 but Bute was #2 before the Andrade win and he did ko him so I won't disagree with that. Besides, I'm sure ward will be #2 after his win in the next round or atleast someone from this tourney will be ranked 1st when its all said and done and then they will face Bute afterwards so all is fair. As long as the top guys face each other at the end.

            1) yes bute got saved by the ref
            2) bika was not rated in the top 10 when bute fought him in 2007
            3) yes miranda is a gate keeper
            4) berrio? zuniga? who?

I didn't like the way Dirrell fought, but Dirrell clearly won that fight IMO.

I think it's fair that Bute is no. 1. Froch should be lower though, Abraham higher and Dirrell in the top10 etc.

I don't think he did.....he did land more clean ineffective slaps and cupping shots though during the fight I will admit that.......I just can score for a guy holding and running in excess, intentionally falling to the floor to avoid inside fighting, and getting manhandled by his opponent for much of the fight.

What resume does Ward have apart from Kessler? His only other decent victory is against Miranda, and he nothing more than a gatekeeper.

I take nothing away from Ward. He is a fantastic pugilist, and has the potential to be one of the best boxers in the world, but one good victory doesn't make you the best. If he beats Dirrell convincingly, and Froch loses to Kessler then the top spot is up for grabs. But as it stands -

                    1)Bute
                    2)Froch
                    3)Ward

                      1) Bute got up at the count of 8
                      2) Bika is rated in the top 10 now so that wins look good now right. Just if Miranda win the win for Ward looks better
                      3) If Miranda is a gate keeper then so in Berrio and Zuniga.
                      4) If you don't know who Berrio and Zuniga are then that is the end of this thread cuz you not a hardcore fan. You don't want to give credit to Bute for those wins fine. And, Berrio was top 10 when Bute beat him. Just a lil info Berrio was a solid is a good win. Zuniga was on the same level as Miranda is.
